Chandler is not going to get $12mm per year. $8-$10mm per, tops. And nobody is going to tie up money in a restricted free agent until the first wave of top tier guys has passed. That gives Morey time to figure out who he has a shot at and workout an agreement before having to match anything on Parsons. Not to mention nobody can put in an official offer for Parsons until July 8. Morey has 5 days to match any offer. We'll know well before July 13 if any of the big fish are coming here and Morey can then go over the cap to sign Chandler.
BimaThug: Regarding the possibility of trading Chandler Parsons, I went looking for precedent and found that the Rockets picked up the option on Chase Budinger's contract right before trading him to the Wolves for the eighteenth pick in the 2012 draft. It's not confirmation, but this does suggest that you indeed cannot trade a player with a team option and thus no one can make Parsons a RFA but the Rockets at this point. This makes it more difficult for the Rockets to trade Parsons for Love.
I think we are using him to get lebron or melo and then cut Parsons as soon we get either and a few years later he will publicly announce how he hates the rockets and fans here would not understand it.
Y make another run with this team? I like our chances we eere 4-0 vs the spurs. We just need to improve team chemistry. Lets just make a run for KLOVE next summer

The truth is, we have to find a FA, get them to agree. Make parsons UFA by withdrawing our QO and then hope that he doesn't Boozer us and leave for another team.
Good thing is that Parsons cannot sign an offer sheet until July 10, so we should have a commitment by then.
