The guard the Rockets need at #18 is Delon Wright. Tall 6'5" point guard with a 6'7" wingspan. An unselfish point who defends, rebounds and scores. Best defensive point guard in the draft and the type of point guard the Rockets need to defend Curry. Quick feet on defense, uses his length and can recover and block the shot. In college: 14.7 points 5.0 rebounds 5.0 assists 2.1 steals 1.0 blocks 50.5% fg. 83.5% ft. 35.6% 3-pt. The video breakdown of his perimeter defense at DX shows why the Rockets need him.
Someone suggested elsewhere that Jones is just a smokescreen. I wonder if we're hoping Dallas picks him up so that they don't sign Bev?
Or it might be that Jones is the steal of the draft? The main knock on him is 'lack of upside', because he is just an average athlete by NBA standards. But that could be in his favour? He is quick enough (not Canaan quick - but what does raw speed do for you??) - and has all the skills, along with high bball IQ and the ability to make a lot of passes, and run plays. Are we going to assume all those other abilities won't improve as he turns 20?

I wonder if we'll work out Andrew Harrison too? Either way, both are big question marks, especially with their BB IQ.
I would never come to Rockets if I was young player. I would rather go oversea. They don't play defense and they run only one play. Waste of time.
Tyus has resumed workouts and having a re-do with the Rockets. ^ Great stuff, man! Working out the Indian kid caught my eye. Unlikely that he'll get drafted, but it is definitely worth noting.
Doesn't seem like the Rockets have worked out that many of the top 20 guys. Vaughn and Tyus are the only ones I've noticed.
Don't you mean Emanual Davis? I really felt sorry, and still feel sorry for him because he got injured. He never was the same energetic player after that. He gave his all as a Houston Rocket.
I feel like we are going to trade back and take Vaughn. Pick up a shooter and whatever assett gained in trading back. Also the contract becomes a cheaper one for next year's cap space.
Robert Upshaw late 1st or at an early 2nd is a steal. Too bad we have two very promising centers already in Capela/Dwight. Also, based on who got invited and considering the real potential in the NBA at their prospective positions, I've gotta think we're trading the NO pick for a PG.
