*facepalm* at myself. I didn't think the "Chandler at the draft lottery* thread included this interview.
Good lord. Parsons is becoming Morey's wet dream and clutchfans worst nightmare. Working on being an undersized 4 and all the qualities of a role player.
Morey hit a home run with this kid. Not a 4-runs scored home run, but a home run. Especially if the kid improves.
Who gives a crap if the guy is a fan of justinB as long as he can defend the opposing teams best perimeter player and shoot the 3 from the corner i'll be happy.
Chandler should work on his fade shot(aka dirk). As tall and long as he is, it would be a near impossible shot to block. He needs to work on his jumper off the dribble, because that seperates the men from the boys.
He will easily improve. Getting a better shot takes practice. He has all the intangibles that you can't teach
He's always talking about his confidence, which is why i thought he at least had a shot to make the team, but clearly it's taken him much further. This is one player that should max out his potential, it's just not very clear what that is yet.
I got excited when I read "Pick-and-rolls", but then realized he wasn't talking about screening. I'd practice picks instead of ball-handling. The team desperately need people who can effectively screen for our guards. The C's and PF's on our team are either too big/slow to roll to the rim after setting the pick, or they're too small to set an effective one. If done right, picks from Parsons can vastly change the Rocket's offensive game.
Gotta love Chandler Parsons. He deserves all the love that comes his way because he played great. I have been rooting for Morris since day 1 but I won't dare take anything away from Parsons, he has earned all the respect and credit that he gets.
definatly love his desire to be better... if he could consistently shoot(or make a free throw) he would be greatly improved...
I don't buy it frankly. Those are unrealistic expectations. To materially improve a single thing is rare, nevermind the 5 things he mentioned in a single summer. Sounds like he's just saying what needs to be said. Very good player, and I hope he's succesful this summer, but if he wants to be in the rotation of a contender he needs to focus on material improvement on areas critical to his position/role rather than attempt incremental improvement in such a large variety of categories. I mean seriously, if I told you I was going to attempt to improve my 3pt shooting, free throw shooting, mid range J, strength and ball handling and expect to maintain all my current qualities all in one summer... Actually I'm so awful I could probably improve all those things in a day. But you get the idea. If he focused on nothing but hitting 3's and improved conditioning this summer and improved by a few percentage points on 3's, that would be tremendous for us and him.
So he is a telephone booth away from becoming a superhero. Like it. He is young, want more, nothing wrong with it. No playoffs sucks.
