If they signed Stoudemire then they don't expect Francis will be able to compete for mins. at the backup PG. Mighty Mouse would basically be like Booby Jackson on this years team.
There wasn't room for Mary either. She gave birth to the messiah. I hope Mighty Mouse isn't carrying some super powered Rockets baby that could save all of mankind. You would feel really bad if he was and you didn't give him that veteran's minimum contract wouldn't you? Wouldn't you?
We probably won't sign him. First, Steve Francis will make the rotation whether he plays or not. If Steve Francis becames a contributing rotational player, our back court is set. If Steve Francis is useless, we still need his expiring contract on the roster to make deadline trades. We cannot wave him and waste his contract.
The only way I want this to happen is if it's for the vet minimum and we make a trade to clear some roster spots.
We already have Damon Stoudemire on the roster. Only he's about a decade younger. His name is Aaron Brooks.
stoudemire can have luther's spot any day...at least when he gets the ball, he knows what to do with it.
Only if we don't have to give up Rodrick Rhodes. He's the future. Remember the defense he played on Jordan?? Anyone heard of this Mirsad Turkcan guy? He's supposed to be the next Rudy T !!
I don't think I can say it any better. Someone said the spurs didn't want him, why would the rox want him. Well, the spurs didn't want barry and people were giddy over getting him. Damon would be the best pg on this team if he's added. He's older, but still has some quickness and is a good passer. He's small, so that's always a concern, but he's better than Head and can actually help brooks a lot. For vets minimum, how can that be a bad idea?
