No matter what Stephen A Smith says, it's telling that Jackson's name isn't even being mentioned for coaching positions - much like D'Antoni's name was when Les Alexander "decided" to pick him for the Rockets.
This definitely is going to push the sides to a resolution whether it's with him signing an extension or retiring because he didn't get one.
oh hes probably sending this to Morey lol. I took them to Game 7 last year and played them better than portland this year.. Pay me now..
Because he was a problem personality wise and did some snake stuff. Players didn’t like him for a reason.
Who? Scrubs like Andrew Bogut? Steph loves Mark Jackson. Also you didn't really explain why he's a bad coach. Judging from his tenure w/ GS he's a fantastic coach that turned a terrible franchise around
Bleacher Report: James Harden, Chris Paul Had 'Verbal Exchange' After Game 6 Loss to Warriors SCOTT POLACEKMAY 23, 2019
Steph did not lol. Mark Jackson during commentating made a comment saying Steph is “ruining basketball” and is always making snide remarks. A coach who has issues with players and butts heads is not a good coach. Tell me why has he not had a coaching job, assistant, head, etc. with any organization since then??? https://www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/nba/2014/12/6/7344165/mark-jackson-warriors-reasons-joe-lacob
Yes he did, know ur history. These comments were made AFTER his tenure. Steph actually defended Mark Jackson after they let him go http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/...-state-warriors-disagrees-mark-jackson-firing What's happened is there are certain groups of fans who personally dislike Jackson, so they disregard him turning that losing franchise into a winning one. Bad coaches don't do that. Just say Mark Jackson's presence annoys & your opinion is tainted
To be honest, I'm somewhat surprised this has not happened yet. Just seems to me that if they were going to extend, it would have happened by now.
Man, I keep reading "Rockets and D'Antoni ..." and get my hopes up even though it's the same thread from Sunday.
They’ll extend him but it’s weird how he has no say about his assistants lol. Morey finally has the coach he’s always wanted that let’s him hire and fire the assistants
Fat ass Daryl out here hiring/firing coaches confirmed. Remember when he ran Adelman off because he was trying to put Adelman's successor on Adelman's staff. "Groom him." Adelman rightfully told him to **** off. Then FAD got his puppets Kevin McHale & Mike D'Antoni. Adelman declined to mentor successor Rockets tried to make their pick for next coach a new assistant The Rockets had decided they would choose Rick Adelman's successor even before the team and the coach had agreed to part ways. Adelman could have remained the Rockets' head coach, but was told that the Rockets had decided to hire his successor and put him on Adelman’s coaching staff if he remained, according to two individuals with knowledge of the talks. Though Adelman and Rockets general manager Daryl Morey came together on several issues, Morey wanted Adelman to mentor a successor that Morey and Rockets owner Leslie Alexander would have chosen and put on Adelman’s staff. Adelman was unwilling to make the changes necessary to his staff, arguing in favor of assistants. Though there have been instances in which assistant coaches have been designated to succeed veteran coaches, in those cases the assistant was part of a staff, rather than placed on the staff by the front office. It is even more unusual given Adelman’s track record. He moved to eighth in career coaching wins and had the best winning percentage as Rockets coach in franchise history.
This. What's the holdup? Do Fertitta and Morey think this situation will get better, the more they drag it out? Are the Texans advising them on how to do a sticky personnel contract negotiation? If they want to move on from MDA, then do it already, before too many coaching replacements go to other teams.
