Rockets again won't have classic jersey (fifth option) in 18-19

    What is Nike's strategy here, the league's and the team's? Why not all teams and why limit their options? The teams who had one this jersey won't wear the same one, like the Hornets who wore the teal classic, but will wear the home version of that. So they are not allowed to keep the other one. Not sure what the rules are exactly, but seems kind of strange what they're doing here.

    A shame Rockets won't wear a classic one since all of the news are pretty bad, though the black one has grown on me a little. Also if we would've had any re-brand plans, I think some word would've gotten out. Let's hope they Fertitta has some tricks up his sleeve. He can't be satisfied with the current uniform selection right? Right????!??

    Man, 4 of those "classic" teams barely have any history. 3 of them were barely even around before the 90's.

    It takes 2-3 years to get approval for new jerseys from the league. It will be a few years before Tillman can get new ones.

    Not really, you really think these Nike ones were made 2-3 years ago? I think with Nike taking over the rules might have changed, because apparently there's more re-brands coming next year and more daring city editions and the other one according to conradburry - who is credible. This first year by Nike teams tried things out, but now they are familiar so will go more crazy next year. Let's hope Rockets are changing at least the City jersey to a great clutch city one.

    The biggest stain Les did to our tradition was to change the uniforms away from the classic colors, if it wasn't for China, we would still have Blue pin stripes .

    Because Les is from New York and he wants us to look like the Yankees with a flying dildo

    considering they signed the deal in 2015 that nike would be the new sponsor beginning 17-18, then yeah what hes saying is true.

    Fair enough, but would be crazy if teams decided that long ago they were going to stick with a certain design and then already knew they would roll out even crazier / riskier / out there designs the year after. I'm sure some re-branding, given the change from Adidas to Nike, can be done within a year. Teams need time to see how their designs would play out, be received by fans, how players would like them etc. Silly if they cannot make changes for next year by filing paperwork this year about changes they want to make. Such a controlfreak head office.

    its not that surprising though. A logo isn't something that realistically gets changed over night, especially one thats part of a team for years and years with history behind it
