A red flag is his free throw shooting. It's more Capela level at a little under 60%. That's terrible for a point guard or any guard, in my opinion. Several scouts appeared to believe that his shot is broken and needs a lot of work, and that's reflected not just from his FT shooting, but also from Duval shooting under 30% from behind the college arc. A couple said that he has a tendency to drive into traffic and then, finding no place to go, making a wild pass that can end up being a turnover. He needs a lot of work. Duval is an elite athlete, so he has that going for him. Honestly, I think he would have been better served staying at Duke for at least another season. Maybe some time in Europe? There's a reason he didn't get drafted. Those are a couple of them.

Lin is sort of a poor man's Westbrook-- similar strengths (driving ability, first step) but not nearly as strong as Westbrook, and has similar weaknesses, too (not exactly reliable jumpshot, too many drives end up being a car crash).

He wasn't a fit for Duke. He can't play fast being #5 option and having #2pick on the post

So you're telling me..... we MAY have gotten our hands on a lite version of Russell Westbrook..... AS AN UNDRAFTED FU**IN FREE AGENT!

If all 3 of these kids (Melton, Edwards, and Duval) end up panning out as being draft steals, we all have to personally line up and suck Morey's ****.

Ok maybe that's too far. We all have to pay for someone to suck Morey's ****.

fair enough. Chances of any 3 NBA draft picks, on the same team, working out is <1%.

You have to be super athletic and amazing in all other areas in today's NBA to not be able to shoot as a PG.

Like Rondo... and even with him, he somehow learns how to shoot in the playoffs. Or like Rubio, who's been fairly meh and honestly is VERY good at all other areas... good defense, high A:TO ratio... and has finally learned to be an "ok" shooter.

I think Duval can be an NBA player and find himself in 5 years with a decent contract. But unless he's learned how to shoot in the last 3 months, I think it indeed will be a 5 year journey.

Good pick up by Morey. Duval was the best high school point guard coming into Duke. I’m sure he attended many CP3 camps. He’s only 19 so hopefully he can grow under the best point guards in the league. I’ll give him a 40% chance of making the team right now.

He moves more like Rose than Westbrook from watching him.

Westbrook has to get a big head of steam and go in a straight line, prime Rose could accelerate from many different angles

    What?

These draft picks in no way affect the signing (or not signing) of CP3.

    WTF are you talking about.

His defense was not good. In general, he did not look NBA ready, but his agent must have had a different story to tell.

That's why I said potential. Long arms, good lateral quickness, just in a bad situation. K is a terrible defensive coach who also had them playing zone most of the season.

Call up the Jazz. They would have a line waiting for the chance in 1 minute flat. Better ask Daryl first, though.
