Mutombo & Yao are playing together. I like it. Reminds me of when Cato played with Yao, which was another effective combination. I never understood why JVG never experimented with it ... 5 minutes every 2-3 games the strategy might work

    Are you kidding me....

Adelman only used Deke with Yao cus Chuck was hurt and Scola had too many quick fouls.

For your information, JVG played Deke with Yao at least once. I think it was 2 years ago against Heat.

No it makes sense. The two centers playing a double post offense. It's very effective. The question is, can Deke play and have enough stamina to stay out there with Yao.

it seems to be interesting.Spurs is not a very quickly team,i think that's why the coach let them play together.

It only makes sense if the other team is playing two centers. If either the opposing bigs can shoot an outside jumper, it's not a sustainable strategy.

duncan elbowed him (inadvertently) in the face and he got a cut above his eye that required stitches. He came back

Yeah, but the Spurs were playing Elson and Duncan and both of those guys are basically centers. I don't see that scenario occurring all that often.

Duncan knocked the crap out of his eye with an elbow and he needed stitches. Hayes came back, but it was fun seeing Deke and Yao playing together.

Maybe not for Yao and Deke but try telling that to D-Rob and Duncan.

It is ok when we are playing the aged team like the Spurs, who are unbelievably slow....as a whole

I've always been convinced Deke is capable of being our mascot when he is retired......

I loved after the dunk Yao was yelling and screaming and chest bumped Deke. Sick dunk.

Everyone loves the Dekester! We should make him a bench coach after this season so he can be a positive presence on the sidelines.

Well, I meant specifically for Yao and Deke, neither of whom can guard outside the paint effectively. Robinson was an athletic freak who probably could have guarded SFs if he wanted, and Duncan is a capable defender away from the basket as well.
