I mean, Trump has gone too far. No matter what your opinion of Comey is, anyone who knows him or has heard him speak knows that he's anything but that. There is no way any Republican is going to back Trump on this. You want to talk about embarrassing, BTG? There you go.

Not about trust. The guy has an unprecedented amount of lies. No other president even comes close to lying as much as Trump and his team have.

Remember when the greatest fear was that Hillary's emails MIGHT have exposed classified info? Almost everything the GOP and its pundits complained or warned about in regards to Obama and Hillary, has been manifested in the Trump administration in just 4 short months. Everything from disclosing classified material, to too much golf, to kowtowing to foreign leaders, to expensive first family trips, to divisiveness, to having a president under FBI investigation, to incompetence due to lack of experience, to cronyism, to bad health care bills, to ignoring the constitution. These things have been the hallmark of the Trump era.

EMBARRASSMENT!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone who voted for this "nutjob" should be thoroughly embarrassed.

It just again re-affirms this notion of self projection, and hatred for what you see in the mirror. The current manifestation of the GOP is everything they say they hate, and the boogeyman Liberal Deep State really turns out to be their own creation.

I anticipate Trump claiming he had no idea about everything that's found in the investigation and you, like the Trumpanzee you are, believing him.

If the investigation leads to impeachment I will apologize for not believing you. I hope you have a good weekend man.

The people voted against him. It's the electoral college that gave him the victory.

Trump being a non-politician isn't the problem, it's him being a sleezy, lying, and corrupt buffoon that's the problem.

He won fair and square. The electoral college worked how the founders intended

No apology necessary or expected. I doubt the Republicans will impeach him but no question they will try to force him out as soon as the fire gets too hot for their liking.

You said the people wanted him, they didn't.

There's no way the founders could possibly envision what a 21st century democracy would need to be successful so who cares what they intended? Laws can and should be changed when they outlive their usefulness.

Did black men's vote only count as 3/5 of a vote? If not, those crazy founding fathers are sad.

It was actually refreshing to not hear the electoral college argument for a few day there.

That's a gross oversimplification of whatever 'mandate' came from that election. 60 million people voted for Trump, and for a grand variety of reasons. Some fraction of them will say they liked that he was an outsider and thought that he could shake up the establishment. But not all 60 million. Some voted for pro-business concerns, some to oppose the liberal social agenda, and so on. And, especially once you include the 65 million who voted against him, you've got nothing close to the "people" wanting a non-politician.

I do think you're right about non-politicians running. Well, they may or may not be non-politicians, but they'll be populists anyway crusading against "the corrupt Washington insiders," because Trump proved the model works, and they'll try to see if they can make it work again. I expect Ted Cruz to up his populist game and be a big contender. There will probably be dark horses as well. But, you know, just because the model works and you can get people to vote for you with this approach doesn't make it good for us. In addition to everything else, we're seeing how costly "learning on the job" is, even when you're not as flawed as Trump is.

Or maybe they wanted all of the colonies to form one state? To do so required compromises. With the Electoral College being one. Like it or not, that's our system. Trump won fair and square.
