[RIP] Mel Tillis

    I think he was the first person I recognized that stuttered when he talked but didn't when he sung
    I cannot say i know enough of his music
    but I knew some . .. .

    seemed like a decent dude

    I always liked that he never shied away from speaking in public despite his stutter.

    So, Mel Tillis and his friend Doo Dah go fishing on the river and they take a fork that leads to some rapids they'd never come across before. The rapids are very strong, the boat capsizes, and tosses them both in. Mel's able to grab a tree branch and pull himself out of the water, but Doo Dah sadly doesn't make it, and gets swept away.

    Mel goes to Doo Dah's house to give his wife the terrible news.

    She opens the door to see Mel, soaking wet and frantically trying to speak: "D-d-d-duh..."

    "Oh, Mel, you poor thing! What is it? Why don't you just sing it to me?"

    "We went fishing, guess who drowned? Doo Dah, Doo Dah!"
