https://www.theringer.com/2019/3/8/18255945/chris-paul-on-the-rondo-skirmish-and-his-legacy A lot of great stuff on here. Something I found very intriguing. CP3 talks about ex-teammates he speaks to regularly. DJ is mentioned, which, of course they talk, but more interestingly Joe Ingles was mentioned as a guy Chris speaks to regularly. I had no idea they were close. Maybe one day we can get him over here. He'd be perfect next to James and Chris.
Ingles would be a perfect fit here, but, man, we're already hated around the league...Ingles ain't going to help that.
Why are people so concerned about how hated our team is or will be? I don't think I'll ever understand this.
2017: “They offered four [years] and then they went three. Daryl [Morey] always has a million things going on, like in A Beautiful Mind with all of the stuff written on the chalkboard. I’m sure he had four or five deals out there [he was working on]. The day before free agency, I thought it was a four-year deal. Chris Paul and I talked for about 30 minutes the night before free agency started. I wanted to go there. “[It didn’t work out] – some of it was numbers and some of it was other factors like relocating the family and – I hate to say this – but you never know with Daryl and how he operates. A three-year deal could really be a six-month deal if you get dealt at the trade deadline for a superstar as part of a package of six.”
He got into some hot water last year when the Internet (including a bunch of people here) accused him of using an anti-Chinese slur while wishing China a happy Chinese New Year. It was all kinds of silly (an obvious tongue slip, nothing more), but given the Rockets China ties maybe they steer clear of him.
The only reason JJ isn't in Houston is because Philly is paying him obscene money for his services. 24 million and 12 million the last 2 years.
JJ Reddick knows that contracts guarantee nothing......... I don't blame him..... after his "girlfriend" broke their abortion contract, he knew a guarantee means nothing. https://deadspin.com/how-j-j-redicks-abortion-contract-was-conceived-912727291
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20750344/andre-iguodala-was-verge-leaving-golden-state-warriors I think the endgame would have been to get Iggy via S&T and then try and sign JJ to the MLE.
