Rockets are better spacers, HOU uncontested 3 is not same as OKC uncontested 3.

Did he tell you that he thought he should be MVP of 2018?

Are is that your ego making up things?

    Oversimplification.

    Rockets Shooters
    Harden shot 13.2 3s at 37%
    Gordon shot 8.8 3s at 36%
    Green shot 6.0 3s at 35%
    Tucker shot 4.7 3s at 38%
    Rivers shot 4.7 3s at 33%
    House shot 4.6 3s at 42%

    OKC Shooters
    George shot 9.8 3s at 39%
    Schroder shot 4.6 3s at 34%

OKC had two shooters that attempted 4.6 3s or more per game...George and Schroder. Houston had 6 (excluding CP3).

Volume matters, but the real difference between the rosters is that Houston has Gordon and Tucker, and Harden is a better shooter than George (level of difficulty matters as well).

This post should be required preliminary reading by any journalist sitting down to write a Russ-on-the-Rockets article.

eh. this is the same logic that people tried to use for melo and that his 3 ball numbers would rise bc he would get all this space.

the logic is sound, however, the inclusion of that specific player wasn't. Russ can still be a very good to great 2nd option. Melo was no longer viable as even a 3rd option coming here. His skills eroded...much like how Chris Paul's will/have.

    It’s not wrong though...

If Russ refuses to adapt at all then it will fail. If Harden refuses to adapt at all then it will fail. This is Harden’s power play.... this is on him to get buy in.

This. I imagine it was purposefully oversimplified to get the desired result.

We won 65 games with Eric Gordon shooting 32% beyond the 3 point line from October thru February. He made up the difference at the rim. Westbrook will have the same opportunity to make up the difference at the rim.

Just my opinion. I believe MDmA's offense has more in store for folks that are challenged from deep.

Russ had no help in OKC...( so I’ve been told) hence the high volume crappy % numbers..

Russ has help here in Houston. Could lead to lower volume knuckle head shot selection..??

Will we get Westbrick or Russ Westbrook....

Can’t wait for the season to start!!!!!

We will get Westbrick but he'll be OUR Westbrick and we will defend him from the mean media and media conspirators! ;)

Wait so your point was that Houston's shooters are better because they put up more threes? The original post was about efficiency, not volume. Not sure how the point about volume refutes that...

Push in transition, more penetration, limit all shooting other than set threes.... pass the ball and cut to the basket. IF Westbrook cuts his shot attempts by 4-5 a game and allows Harden and other shooters to absorb those shots, it has a good chance of working... especially with Westbrook and Harden only over lapping 20 minutes a game. Playing against reserves helped Paul quite a bit, it should help Westbrook as well.

Either way it is a risky proposition.

The thunder spacing issues weren’t because defenders left their shooters. Their issue was teams sagging off Westbrook

Westbrook's shooting numbers have never been great you have to live with that...What we are hoping for is that he will continue to thrive in iso/pick&roll situations but also, this will be the best shooting team he has ever been, which should theoretically maximize his ability to drive and/or kick

No, just a reasonable conclusion based on the evidence at hand.

The fact that he was still among the NBA's leader in usage rates, despite being WILDLY inefficient and playing with a much more efficient MVP candidate, indicates a clear lack of inclination to take a backseat to superior teammates.

key part of that statement is the most common non - Westbrook shooter.

they are comparing most common shooter to all of Houston players, why?

He will have much more capable shooters around him in Houston meaning the lane will not be as clogged therefore finishing at the rim will go up and he will not need to shoot as many pull up 2's.

that particular line really makes no sense of you don't also dig in to the rest of OKC's shooting percentage of give the most common non Harden shooter.

Paul did not compensate for that last year and it was part of why he shot at career lows.
