Is Galo better player right now than Melo? How would you rate that trade right now ?

I'd say it was a pretty even trade, I would take Melo over Galo still but neither team has had great success.

I suppose Melo had a little more with NY since they did win the Atlantic at least one year.

    Nuggets forever won that trade.

Knicks: Carmelo Anthony, Renaldo Balkman, Chauncey Billups, Anthony Carter, Shelden Williams, Corey Brewer
Timberwolves: Eddy Curry, Anthony Randolph, cash and Denver's 2015 2nd round draft pick
Nuggets: Kosta Koufos, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, cash, a 2012 2nd round draft pick(Quincy Miller), a 2013 2nd round draft pick(Romero Osby) and a 2014 1st round draft pick

*Koufos was later traded to Memphis for Darrell Arthur and Joffrey Lauvergne
*Felton was later traded to Portland for Jordan Hamilton, Andre Miller and a 2014 2nd round pick
*Mozgov was later traded to Cleveland for two first round picks.

Not sure how Nuggets won that trade?? NY was a second seed in the playoffs few years back with JKidd, Melo, Chandler. Nuggets have done basically nothing, even with George Karl. It was more a bad trade for both teams.

Knicks made the playoffs thrice, losing in the first round twice; second round once.
Nuggets made the playoffs thrice, losing in the first round all three times or what they accomplished every other year except 1 with Carmelo. ;)

Nuggets got a nice haul for the most overrated superstar in the NBA. Had Carmelo waited, he could have bolted to NY in FA that summer I believe and NY could have kept their assets.

    NY     | DEN
    42-40 | 50-32
    36-30 | 38-28
    54-28 | 57-25
    37-45 | 36-46
    17-65 | 30-52
    20-22 | 16-25

Nuggets have done just fine without that loser!

This was another disastrous, bone-headed trade for the Knicks. They should have waited until the summer and signed Melo as a free agent, giving up nothing. They had a chance to put together a very good team, but totally blew it.

When you consider Melo was going to leave for nothing, the Nuggets clearly won the trade. Not even debatable IMO. No other team was going to give up anything just to rent Melo for 2 months. Knicks had the leverage but let the Nuggets use it.

Remember when there were Kyle Lowry to Knicks rumors? The reason it didn't happen was because Masai Ujiri had already fleeced the Knicks twice in the Melo and Barnani trades and James Dolan was afraid of being ridiculed again.

Wait, the Knicks got Carmelo "The KEY to a Championship Formula" Anthony and people call them the loser of the trade? :p:p:p

You know the rule of thumb that whatever team ended up with the best player won the trade? Carmelo Anthony is the exception that proves the rule -- whatever team manages to unload Anthony wins the trade.

Sorry, the Nuggets never had a chance in the playoffs. Going to the first round and getting the crap beat out of you does not define success. The only player they have left from the trade is a broken down Gallo. Chandler has been broken the last few years.

I do agree Melo should have waited.
