Okay, so I have a request for y'all. I need a direct link to the live stream of http://www.espn980.com/ They're using Microsoft Silverlight to broadcast, but I want a direct stream in order to listen from my iPhone instead of my computer. If anyone could provide that, it'll be a big help. I'll be looking and working myself on it tonight, but I am so unfamiliar with Silverlight and how it functions that I'm pretty sure it'll be a losing battle. Anyway, thanks y'all!
Actually, no. I'm with Sprint; I don't want to switch to AT&T. I do, however, work for Apple and sell iPhones regularly. This is actually for a friend of mine who I work with. I was essentially typing what he told me before, hence the confusion about "my" iPhone. My phone doesn't even display photos. I WISH I had an iPhone.
I don't understand the thought process of the query about getting an alternate delivery method from the one that the web site has already chosen. If they had a stream available using alternate technology (other than Silverlight), wouldn't they have a visible link for it? The web site locks out some potential customers by choosing a certain way to deliver its content. Some consumers lock themselves out by using a device that isn't able to handle all of the various methods of delivering web content.
I think that pretty much sums up my feelings on this matter. And no, they wouldn't always put up an alternate technology on the web. Alternate tech for listening in on radio stations is surrounded in politics. I just want to go around the politics.
