Long term Goerge is the answer. Short term Lebron is but who knows how long cp and Lebron can last at their ages

At least if Chris Paul fades out you still have harden and Goerge

Why wouldn't he just let PG13 walk? Getting Gordon won't move OKC any where closer to the top tier in the West, especially if they're sending us George to create a Big 3.

Our system is not OKC's. His looks will be better and his percentages will go up across the board. His workload will also decrease

Imagine walking up to Russell Westbrook and telling him PG is gone and because they'd rather save money they are letting him walk for nothing.

Remember the Thunder are capped out so they can't even add a player making more than the MLE. It would be like us letting Capela walk for nothing.

Tell me how Westbrook or say Harden would feel about that?

Maybe so. But George is the better fit for this team

Presti will take Ego, salary filler, and a pick for Paul George

u can’t lose KD and PG13 for nothing in just the past 2 years

Well, conceivably, you could, if PG decides to sign into the Lakers' cap space.

Whether PG would use that as leverage to come to Houston....? I don't know if OKC would bite, even if so.

Imagine telling Westbrook that you're going to trade Paul George to the Rockets to create a bigger gap between OKC and GSW/HOU and you're getting back Gordon, who would be their 6th man at best.

I get it that you think Presti would rather get Gordon than to let George walk for nothing but there are too many variables at play specifically between Houston and OKC (the Harden trade, the fact that Presti would help Houston build THE team to beat GSW for the championship by trading away both Harden AND George) that this wouldn't make sense unless Morey decides to throw in multiple picks to go with Gordon.

Pretty sure if you fully guarantee onuaku and zhou contract next year, them 2 + Gordon is enough salary for an opt-in and trade. Add a 1st going to okc and it’s a pretty fair deal for both and similar to the cp3 trade of assets and value contracts.

I'll take LeBron James as a player long term and short term over Paul George.

LeBron James is 5 years older than Paul George, and in 5 years he will still be better than Paul George.

As long as James steps on the court, he is going to be effective because of his strength, size and passing.

Hell you can move him to the 4 if he loses too much quickness and he will still rebound, score, shoot and pass better than 90% of the NBA.

    This.

It's not as simple as letting Paul George walk for nothing. If the Thunder trade Paul George here they are effectively creating a locked up Western Conference for the rest of Westbrook's prime. If he walks to the Lakers it still sucks, but that still gives them a chance to find a way to be one of those teams competing for a shot to score a big knockout.

Westbrook would be beyond ecstatic. Anything that gets him more shots and rebound opportunities.

If PG doesn't want to play with Westbrook it's over for Westbrook. Westbrook ego wouldn't even allow himself to think he can't beat the best team in the NBA. That's who Westbrook is. He will always think he's the best player in the NBA.

Did he ask for a trade when KD went to the Warriors? No, he went out and averaged a triple double.

Honestly, the Thunder would likely demand two #1 picks and the Rockets would do it. At this point the Rockets and Morey would give up just about anything to add a third star to Paul and Harden...

I think OKC is locked up either way. As a small market team in the LT, they have to do what they can at the margins.

While true it's been some time since Lebron had a far superior GM as the likes of Pat Riley.

With Morey, I don't doubt that he would take Lebron's input and use it accordingly. He's no schmuck in terms of knowing these guys have links other than basketball to each other.

That's one of the biggest things that will likely keep Ariza here, unless one of these big fishes bites. Which on top of playing with Harden, ironically, was one of the other reasons CP3 chose to join us almost immediately.
