you don't? except for the whole injury prone thing, he was one of the best, young sgs in the league.

Remember when he was traded for Chris Paul?

What do the <strike>Hornets</strike> Pelicans have to show for?

Chris Paul traded by the New Orleans Hornets with a 2015 2nd round draft pick and a 2015 2nd round draft pick to the Los Angeles Clippers for Al-Farouq Aminu, Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman and a 2012 1st round draft pick (Austin Rivers was later selected).

At least they have Anthony Davis.

They also held onto Ryan Anderson too long... the words "herniated discs" will scare off everyone.

idk, even back then when he wasn't injured, and had the clippers team to himself essentially, he never stood out as a guy you build around.

great scorer, but something was just lacking that you can plainly see a guy like harden possessing.. when he was on the OKC bench.

he was the best scorer on a terrible team.. a lot of guys right now can do that given the chance and put up 22ppg and 4 assists. but we wouldn't give them max deals

Well let's just be glad that Chris Paul was traded to the Clippers and Stern vetoed the 1st trade,,,,, or else we'd be featuring a line up of Pau Gasol + Nene right now.

I really don't see too many do that in their 3rd year with decent efficiency.

This year there are only 9 players that are greater or equal to his 22.3.

But somehow, "a lot of guys" can do that. Did I mention that was his 3rd year?

One thing EGO used to do but no longer does is getting to the FT line at a high rate. Seems injuries robbed him of some athleticism and desire to risk his body.

yea he is/was good and it was impressive..

but it was bad GMing on the pelicans' part. they were the only ones clamoring to give him a max. if he was that good other teams would have showed more interest but they were really happy to see someone tying up so much money on one guy you cant even build around

so yea two teams with cap space and nothing to do with it were just trying to sign the next *star* guy no matter who it was.. they became star struck

turns out the pelicans were bigger suckers than the suns.

eric gordon was the beneficiary of a dry summer and two teams getting desperate for fan fare..

and cp3 getting desperate to get outta town after the stern-lakers debacle

Even my wife said that New Orleans getting the #1 pick was rigged. We were watching the draft lottery and she turns and looks at me: "You're kidding me."

    Cleveland loses Bron? #1.

New Orleans loses CP3 and Stern loves the NBA in that downtrodden city? #1.

    But I digress.

eric gordon is gonna go from upstart ROY candidate, to underrated, to overpaid, and in a couple years back to underrated again when everyone forgets about him and his once upon a time max deal
