How much of that 15 million will be lost to Canadian taxes?

Lol Denver. That bubble popped before they passed the first round

I really don't understanding what you are loling about.

Solid hire. Toronto desperately needed to be rid of Colangelo.

Cool. I think the Raptors are such a mess that it's very intriguing to see what Ujiri does there. I don't think Ujiri will sit around and hope they can get to .500. It will be interesting to see where they turn. Do they try to blow it up and go for Wiggins?

Not sure why people find this to be a bad hire. Am I missing something?

I always thought the job Ujiri did was over-rated. Denver seemed to exploit their high-altitude advantage to produce results during the regular season. In the post season this advantage is reduced.

Well that's certainly a fair view, but he's still a very good GM, and he's world's better than the one they had previously. Sure they might have overpaid, but that's usually what it takes to get your guy.

'very good GM' by what standard? Denver hasn't won a championship and they don't seem on the precipice of winning one.

So what would you rather the Raptors have done? The main thing is they got rid of Colangelo and are replacing a bad GM with at least a decent GM. Unfortunately for Toronto, Morey and RC Buford weren't available.

Come on man, good hire all in all. Now we see if he can change things around in the T dot.

Personally I would roll the dice on some unknown rather then over pay for some known. Sam Heinkie for example.........

5 years for only $15 million? I thought GMs make much more. How much does Morey make? What's the average for GM. So by authority GM > coach > players. But pay is players > coach > GM.

Back in the late 2000's, GM's averaged about $1-$2 million per year, I think. Not sure what it's up to now.

This dude traded a top 7 player in the league and since that trade, despite the injuries, have like the 5th record in the nba. All of this while trading nene too. This guy has done a much better job than you're giving him credit for and Hinkie doesn't have better cred than him. That was a great move by raptors.

I guess that's you personally but
    1. Hinkie isn't/wasn't available thanks to the Sixers
    2. The Raptors ownership went for the GM that they already had a rapport/some sort of relationship with

When did the nuggets fire him? Or did his deal just end.

You aren't missing anything. Raptors upgraded themselves. I don't know if there is much hope for the franchise. Ujiri has a steep hill to climb.
