I did it! A four team trade that doesn't make sense for anyone! Rockets In: Ryan Anderson Goran Dragic Gordon Hayward Knicks 2nd Rockets Out: CP3 Gordon Capela Boston In: CP3 Heat 2nd Knicks 1st Boston Out: Hayward Heat In: Gordon Dennis Smith Heat Out: Ryan Anderson Dragic 2nd Rounder Knicks In: Capela Knicks Out: Dennis Smith Knicks 1st Knicks 2nd Why the Rockets do it: to get out of CP3's deal, because EGO is walking anyway, and because Tilman can sell that Heat 2nd rounder at a later date to get some cash. Lineup: Dragic Harden Hayward PJT HARTENSTEIN Why Celtics do it: they need a veteran presence on their team and Hayward has been a disappointment, plus Hayward overruns playing-time for Tatum/Brown. Also, they like picks, even a heavily-protected future first from the Knicks. Lineup: CP3 Brown/Smart Tatum ??? Horford Why the Heat do it: they get a guy who could get 20 ppg for them in Eric Gordon. Also maybe they see some potential in Dennis Smith still. Plus, Pat Riley loves to trade away draft picks. Lineup: Smith Richardson/Gordon Winslow Olynyk Bam Why the Knicks do it: they were unable to get any major free agents after signing Durant, so they gladly take Capela for a middling PG and future draft picks. Lineup: Frank Mudiay Hezonja / (injured Durant) Knox Capela
Holy hell why would the Sixers do this? They are not giving up Ben Simmons for a washed up point guard getting paid 40 million a season lmao.
http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y5cwnjxe Rockets out: Capela, Gordon, Nene, 2020 HOU 2RP, Trade Exception Assets Rockets in: Butler, Smart, Williams Why Houston does this: Jimmy G Buckets that's why!!! Wait and see if he opts in or not though. Smart is a great wing defender. 3P% will go up playing with Harden and Paul. Timelord Williams can mimic Capela's game in time with experience. Houston would be a surefire top 5 defense. When Harden is resting, imagine a Paul, Smart, Butler, Tucker, Williams lineup on defense. Scary good!!! And your offense is lead by Harden, Butler, and Paul with role players showing up to shoot 3s, catch lobs, and putbacks. Easy Top 5 offense. Dare I say THE top offense!? And thats a championship level team. Hopefully it should convince DeAndre Jordan to sign with the Rockets for the MLE as the starting center! Have him mentor Lob Williams like he did Mitchell Robinson in New York. This Rockets team can beat a 2 or 3 stars Lakers team or a healthy Warriors team. Resign who you can using TRADE EXCEPTIONS to fill out the rest of the roster. LUXURY TAX TIME! Celtics out: Smart, Williams, 2019 14th pick, future 2RP? Celtics in: Capela, Trade Exception Assets? Why Boston does this: IMO, Boston needs to reset if/when Irving bolts for the Nets(sign and trade maybe?). Horford should explore his options. Celtics players who matter are a relatively young team...except for him. Can Boston leverage a sign and trade Horford out to whoever on a reasonable contract to get value out of him?? Can a team do 2 sign and trades at the same time??? Anyways, Boston gets a younger playoff ready center in Capela. Let go of their inexperienced PF/C Lob Williams (2018 27th pick) and your 2019 14th. Trade Smart to match salary and give more playing time to Rozier(resign), Brown, Tatum and especially Hayward. Makes too much money not to get minutes. He came in as a star so this would be the season to prove it..I mean...Hayward should be better than last year at least, right?? Maybe he can achieve his Utah level being more involved in the offense. Sixers out: Butler Sixers in: Gordon, Nene, 2019 14th pick, 2020 HOU 2RP, Trade Exception Assets, future BOS 2RP? Why Philly does this: That all depends on 2 things: if Philly wants to pay and if Jimmy wants to stay. Assuming Butler wants the MAX money NOW then, and correct me if I'm wrong, he has 1 option: Sign with Philly. Can't sign and trade for the big max, right? Now to come to Houston, Butler needs to opt in and be traded to postpone his max a year since Rockets are not trading CP3. So don't lose Butler for nothing I say. Get a replacement bomber if Redick leaves in EGO. For trading Butler AND eating Nene's contract to help match salary as the backup backup center, Philly gets a 1RP and 2RP. If this isn't enough incentive for Philly to help facilitate then can the Rockets use some of those TRADE EXCEPTIONS to get more assets to trade, no? So...use the assets and keep Nene instead as our backup backup center if Philly doesn't want him.
CP for Winslow/Johnson Capela to the Celtics, Gordon/Smart/#14 to Philly, Butler to Houston Resign Rivers and sign DeAndre Jordan with the MLE Javale on minimum PatBev on minimum if he still likes us Winslow/Bev Harden/Rivers Butler/Green Tucker/Johnson Jordan/Javale Yes I play too much 2K
Trade Gordon for Marcus Morris (S&T, 4y/50m). Sign Beverley with T-MLE. Sign Jeff Green with minimum. Re-sign House with bird rights Paul, Harden, Morris, PJ, Capela Pat, GG, House, J Green, Nene
Houston in: Butler/Hayward Boston in: Paul Philly in: Gordon/Nene works in the trade machine, Boston gets a replacement for Irving, gets to move Hayward Philly losing Butler anyway, gets Gordon random picks can be involved where ever needed to looooob the deal
Rockets out Chris Paul, Clint Capela, Iman Shumpert, future first Rockets in Gordon Hayward, Steven Adams Boston out Aron Baynes, Robert Williams, Gordon Hayward Boston in Chris Paul, Clint Capela, Iman Shumpert OKC out Steven Adams OKC in Robert Williams, Aron Baynes, future first Boston Chris Paul/Rozier Marcus Smart/Shumpert Jayson Tatum/J. Brown Marcus Morris/ Yabusele Clint Capela/Theis Boston would have to at least think about this deal. After losing both starting PG and C spots, they could get two great players for the price of Aron Baynes and stay in contention. The paul contract is ugly but he would be much more useful to them than Gordon Hayward even with Hayward’s contract a year shorter. Paul could run his offense with a great supporting cast and he could mentor the younger players. As an added sweetener for taking the contract they also get Capela who immediately their hole at C with one of the leagues best young big men. OKC Russell Westbrook/Felton Andre Roberson/Ferguson Paul George/Diallo Jerami Grant/Markieff Aron Baynes/Nerlens Noel OKC gets out from the luxury tax. They get a serviceable big in return for Adams and a nice prospect in Robert Williams. If Steven Adams can really be had for cap room then a deal including a cheap role player, a prospect and a pick should get it done. Houston James Harden/Pat Beverly Eric Gordon/Gerald Green Gordon Hayward/CJ Miles PJ Tucker/Mike Muscala Steven Adams/Hartenstein Sign Beverly to the MLE. Make a few under the radar signings to fill out the bench and I think that team is better than this years team.
good trade, but of course rockets will have to give all there first till 2024 for consective years to boston for taking on that contract. And im sure Philly would like 2 first. 2020, 2021, 2022 all go boston. 2023,24 to Philly. Rockets would basicly be giving up there future for a chance to win 1 championship in this window, or maybe 2. Is it worth it, yes, cause you can always by 2nd rounder who pan out, and build your team around them in the long run.
True. Rox could add Capela to CP and Boston would need to sign and trade Horford along with GH, which would sweeten the deal for them and address their newly empty starting 5 spot. Would look like this: Houston in: Butler/Hayward/Horford Boston in: Paul/Capella Philly in: Gordon/Nene The money works, Boston gets a replacement for Irving and Horford, gets to move Hayward contract Philly losing Butler anyway, gets Gordon and again, random picks can be involved where ever needed Those adds would keep Boston in the mix in the east and our line up would be nice, they'd have to sign some others on the cheap, maybe Faried, Rivers, Green type guys to fill in the 2nd unit, but this starting 5 could make some noise C - Horford PF - Tucker SF - Hayward SG - Butler PG - Harden
Reports are that the Pelicans and TWolves have had dicussions with MIN sending Covington and 11 for 4. Pretty much any good team would love Covington. Would it be worth giving up CC if the Pelicans valued him more? Minny and Pels do their pick swap, but we get Covington and Pels get Clint. I think a couple of weeks ago that is much more realistic for us considering Covington's value vs Clint's against the Warriors, but now our main threats might be Denver, Utah and L.A with AD, Clint's value has obvously increased greatly. If we did this trade though, we'd probably unlock the full NTMLE meaning we could probably afford to bring back Rivers. So I'd see this as swapping Clint for Covington and the ability to keep Rivers.
