Yeah, I was never a big fan of his ideas, but basic sanity and non-sociopathy are in short supply this time around. So there are many others I'd like to suspend their campaigns first.

This will primarily benefit the junior senator from Texas.

Well some of his stalwarts are still waiting for their trickle down or insisting that taxes are theft.

He doesn't want to carpet bomb a country, he want to carpet bomb the radical Islamic terrorists.

I'm sorry to see him go too. I think he was one of the more intellectually rigorous of the candidates and brought a more thoughtful and needed voice to the Republican debate.

Unfortunately he ran a poor campaign and it was clear he was far too dovish and couldn't appeal to the anger that is driving a lot of the Republican side.

You realize the radical Islamic terrorists are mixed in with the people of the country, right? You can't do one without the other - that's the whole concept of carpet bombing.

Will be interesting to see where his few supporters go or if he endorses anyone. On the fiscal side, he and Cruz are fairly well aligned, but they are 100% opposites on foreign policy. I'm not there's anyone that's a really good fit for his supporters.

He's a smart guy and I agree with his foreign policy approach, but he is still a little too aligned with the tea party for my liking.

Well the race just got a lot less interesting now that the best GOP candidate is out.

We want Ron Paul, not Rand Paul.

Ron is 10 times intelligent and exciting than Rand.

Ted Cruz has no idea what carpet bombing even means.

What Ted is calling for is exactly what we've been doing. Ted wants precise carpet bombing? hahaha! Only in Ted's warped mind is that even possible.

As for Rand Paul...he ran a horrible campaign. He seemed to be running from his own record (and supporters) from the very start (didn't he announce his candidacy in front of an aircraft carrier?). By the time he figured out his mistake, it was too late. I cannot imagine that Rand Paul's supporters will move Ted Cruz's way.

This is exactly right. He and his dad built a libertarian brand within the GOP. But as he ran for President, he ditched all that in favor of more mainstream views. If he had held his original coalition together, he could have been in the teens in the polls, and maybe if the frontrunners all implode or were deemed unacceptable, he had a shot. Instead, he basically lost the libertarians and couldn't win over anyone else.
