Per Europe vs the US... we could go on for awhile about why that is. However like cases last week in Manchester, online radicalization of nationals continues to be the #1 threat. Although technically he did travel to Libya beforehand. The simplest answer though is probably just the fact that we live on another continent with a massive body of water you have to fly over.

Regardless it's besides the point. The point being why is one treated differently than the other especially here in the US? Why won't 99% of the population condemn the other evil and have the same reaction in our societal and political responses? I'm saying I know the exact reason. My guess is it's the religion component.

I think we need to have a serious look in the mirror a start seriously addressing the hate in our society or we are all going to blow each other up at some point as some sort of self fulfilling prophecy.

On the one hand, I think this is probably just another young mentally ill dude that our country just can't handle for whatever reason. If he hadn't gotten fired up about Moose-lambs it would have been something else, like all the lame Californians invading Portland right now.

But on the other hand, this would be the ideal time for the party in power to highlight this event, express sympathy to the heroes who rose to protect their fellow citizens, and to denounce hate-based domestic terrorism, even when the perp is a dumb white citizen. The fact that (as far as I can tell anyway), they remain silent on this speaks more sad Steve Bunyon inspired volumes. He is probably loving this event.

do you think this kind of rhetoric fosters an environment where people feel emboldened to be verbally and physically abusive towards muslims, immigrants and the press? or do you not believe there is a correlation at all?

when trump attacks the press at events and riles up his followers to the point where reporters have to have police escort them back to their vehicles do you think he bears any responsibility for that?
