little to no stunts in the second half compared to the first half. It's ok to throw a blitz to disrupt timing on a 3rd down, which he do in the O.T but not in the 3& 4th.
Romeo has had good defenses in the past. I think he knows what he's doing. I'm far more concerned about the offensive coordinator than the defensive coordinator.
I just don't understand the lack of blitzing when you have such a killer pass rush. Even moreso, I don't understand the constant ten to fifteen yard cushions. Teams are killing us in the quick game. This team is made to jam at the line to get the pass rush going, but we simply don't do anything to add the pass rush. I really can't understand it. It blows my mind.
Seriously. We were getting killed in the short quick pass game and there was no adjustment. I understand we dont have the personnel to man up, speedwise, but damn play a bracket on hilton with some bump and run coverage with help over the top, he weighs 130 pounds ffs. Or switch defensive assignments up. Why let 50 yr old blowseph constantly get beat over and over. Im just glad I didnt have to see his old ass celebrate a single pass break up and then pull on his shoulder pads the next play when his receiver grabs a td against him. **** this team, man.
Same thing happened with the Giants and Shepard and OBJ. We got killed by slants. We never adjusted. Large part of why we lost. I don't understand it.
The defense basically scored 14 points. One TD then forced a turnover near the Colts goalline. The secondary is shaky, but overall the defense has been good.
Front 7 needs to be much better and much more consistent. The 4 man rush rarely gets pressure on its own, which is a shame since its largely comprised of Watt/Clowney/Merciless. Secondary actually had guys in good position in the 2nd half today... somehow Luck was needling those throws in there. However, whenever the Texans got pressure, Luck was off. LIke most defenses, if you can disrupt/win the line... the secondary seems to get that much better.
