There's certain people that die, that you thought died a long time ago, like Jerry Lewis. Just saying.
Jerry in his prime spitting venom..... However the sad truth is that Jerry Lewis DID die a long time ago..... over 25 years ago is the estimate. To keep the "checks cashing" his wife, mistress and children all had agreed to have him stuffed and carted around to events.... Here are some pics to prove it. At first he could be dragged around, but his weight limited him to only special events. Eventually his legs broke and they had to limit his carcass to a chair for photo opportunities at $25 a pop. Even Celine Dion fell for it...... never questioning why she had to insert quarters in his mouth prior to getting a picture.
I grew up listening to Aretha Franklin & I realize how much of an impact she had on the music industry. I didn't realize that her impact was much broader than that till just now when I saw Sports Center do a tribute to her just now! The world has lost an icon!
Some Aretha fans would probably look at that as sacrilegious but I won't lie, as an 80s kid, this is one of my fav Aretha jams. The song was so catchy that she didn't really need anyone else on it but, in true 80s form, she had a sax jump in (The Big Man) and when you have not just a sax solo in your 80s song...but you have THE Big Man? It's a hit all wrapped up!
Cant forget this. Even though it wasn't before a sporting event like her performance of it before the Detroit Lions Thanksgiving game a couple of years ago, (and it's also shorter in time) it's still up there in my book as top 5 and possibly top 3 renditions of The Star Spangled Banner
