    President Trump is making an effort to reach out to black voters in order to make sure they are aware of how beneficial his policies are to their well being. Of course not all of them will hear his message, and not all who hear will listen. But some will, because President Trump's colorblind policies ARE beneficial to black people and will be even more so as he moves into his second term.

    The campaign’s pitch to African Americans is simple: Ignore the president’s words and instead focus on his policies, like the state of the economy and the low unemployment rate, the passage of criminal justice reform or the creation of Opportunity Zones, which are meant to bolster investment in underserved or poorer cities.

    When Trump took office in January 2017, the unemployment rate among blacks was 7.7 percent. Friday’s jobs report pegged it at 6 percent for July.

    “Do I think some of his verbal formulations are in artful? Yeah,” said Ken Blackwell, the former mayor of Cincinnati, former Ohio Secretary of State and a top Trump transition official. “But for me, as a domestic policy adviser during the Trump transition, it has been all about the agenda, a set of results and tomorrow. You have to believe his policy agenda flies in the face of the false narrative of the racist-in-charge.”

    Of course the Democrat left and their supporters in the mass media do not like this kind of effort by Trump and his administration - even though they would call him a racist if he did NOT make this effort. Because if Trump were to be able to hive off even 8-10% of the almost totally devoted support of black voters to his side, the Democrats will not have even the tiniest chance to win this election.

    But this message is not designed to appeal to the radical militant hardcore Democrat left. It is designed to appeal to people who have been very badly served by the Democrat left and their 'Policies" for over 50 years running.

    It is time for a change and some of these people are going to be smart enough to realize that.

    WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is exaggerating his role in bringing economic gains to black Americans.

    Brushing off criticism that his tweets against nonwhite lawmakers are racist, Trump asserts that he's done plenty to improve the fortunes of African Americans as seen by their low unemployment rate, while Democrats have done nothing. That's not the case.

    A look at the claim:

    TRUMP: "The facts speak far louder than words! The Democrats always play the Race Card, when in fact they have done so little for our Nation's great African American people. Now, lowest unemployment in U.S. history, and only getting better." — tweet Sunday.

    THE FACTS: Trump is seeking credit he doesn't deserve for black job growth. He's also wrong to assert that Democrats haven't done anything to improve the economic situation for African Americans.

    It's true that black unemployment did reach a record low during the Trump administration: 5.9 percent in May 2018. It currently stands at 6 percent.

    But many economists view the continued economic growth since the middle of 2009, when Democratic President Barack Obama was in office, as the primary explanation for hiring. More important, there are multiple signs that the racial wealth gap is now worsening and the administration appears to have done little, if anything, to specifically address this challenge.

    The most dramatic drop in black unemployment came under Obama, when it fell from a recession high of 16.8 percent in March 2010 to 7.8 percent in January 2017.

    Appears the trump and his white house prefer Central American countries over a U.S. city. Maybe they should move there?

    St Louis has a higher crime rate than Baltimore. Six of the eight Representatives and both senators are republicans. Maybe trump and his fellow republicans should fix St. Louis first?

    8-10% more of the total black vote in the general election for his campaign, nationally, over what he got in 2016.

    Actually, if Trump gets 10% of the black vote in 2020, that will be very good. If he gets maybe 12%, that will be devastating to the Democrats. And if he were to get say 14%, this will be a blowout of epic proportions, no question about it.

    These are the sorts of goals and thresholds that his campaign should be striving to achieve.

    Agreed. That was a lie, obviously. This administration does lie a lot.

    The real word on the street is that they are spreading the word that there will be free crack on the White House lawn.

    Well, may-hap he will, may-hap he won't. But he is in the process of trying to reach out to these people. If he does get 10%+ (11%?, 12%? 13%?), the Democrats will have cause to be very concerned about their basic demographic political assumptions going forward.
