I can see it now. We will win against New Orleans, and everyone except Rockets fans will claim:

"Well of course Rockets won. Hornets were on the end of a back to back, and they are playing without West."

Then we go on to beat the next 3 and get a 21 win streak going.

The same guys then state our schedule has been incredibly easy, and that all those wins were a fluke. Our real test would be the Lakers.

Then if we beat the Lakers, the same guys will then say something like.

"Well, the Lakers beat themselves. They just played badly. Rockets are bound to beat some decent teams. Hell even Philadelphia won. Lakers and Kobe are still the best in the league, and plus they were playing without Bynum. Boston will prove the Rockets as flukes!"

    Then if we beat Boston...

"Kobe played spectacularly against Dallas....."Kobe"........"Kobe"....."Lakers Championship team"........with a side note stating that the Rockets have just won the 23rd win, which is coincidently the Michael Jordan's number...then the analysts go on to say "Speaking of Jordan, Lebron James has just been outstanding lately. Only person to produce those numbers like that was Jordan. The MVP race between Kobe and Lebron is heating up. Did we mention Kobe had an outstanding game against the Mavericks?"

Sigh oh well. Actions always speak louder than words. Lets hope the Rockets can continue to keep winning and make the push to the playoffs and then the finals.

That's actually not a bad assumption that will be a good challenge, considering that they are one of the only two teams that have beaten the Lakers after the Gasol trade.
