you make it sound like Harden is a super quick player that can stop anyone from getting past him......he isn't quick

where's the option for no change at all?

    I think 0 to 5 I'll vote 5

Boston allows 9 pts fewer than as for reference

Proved before we can win without harden. When he goes into big baby mode, it can really affects teamwork on the defensive end. Hopefully this team can gel through these times... we have the talent.

Our defensive efficiency has been ass for weeks and I don't expect that to change sadly.

more often than not he'll sacrifices his body and takes the charge

same charges drawn as Lebron, Anthony Davis more than Steph Curry, Butler, George double that of Durant, Kawhi, Westbrook, Klay

for the people who voted/think 10 pts or above, you think this team (Cap, RA, Ariza, Ego, PAul) is league top defense (better than spurs and boston) all this time and harden was just holding them back?

LOL best a hater can do is bring up a game from 4 years ago

    harden's 23 points didn't count?

so we win that series too if harden didn't play the whole series right? howbout for the whole season?

let me guess Harden held us back from winning the chip last year right?

I think this has to be expressed in DRTG. And I´m bringing two opposite points. I think our defense will improve, this is from my eye test. Maybe 3 or 4 points.

But, if you look at numbers, there is a way, look at twiter @nba_math or something like that (at the office right now, can´t link) there is a chart that might help to "project" it.

According to their numbers Hardes is #1 offensive player by far, adding 267 "offensive points", but justs brings 2 defensive points. For reference, Lebron is 230 Offensive vs 56 Defensive points; RWB is 141 vs 87, then for their Ranking is goes Giannis, Drummon, Kyrie, Curry, Cousins.
    CP3 is 72 vs 9.

But it says Ego is a worst defensive player than Harden (according to that ranking, I think is a line up heavy math), so it actually says we would be a worst defensive team.

    So, there is that.

the thing is Harden hauling in ungodly 267 offensive points is what has allowed everyone else in the team to put their best effort on defense (or they weren't really putting their best effort since Harden spoiled them and made everyone complacent)

so no everyone has to work twice as hard to makeup for hardens offensive loss and be even better in defense

why d you think the pace of the game will slow down?
perhaps with no harden who is no fan of 7 sec or les imho perhaps the opposite happens?

I added 0 points change or no change in points allowed option to the poll, i think you may change your vote as well.

Tomorrow ill create another poll for us to vote on points allowed per possession because as someone suggested it would be more accurate/meaningful stat.

CP3 knowable and knows ball control helps defense more then the defense itself. CP3 doesn’t put himself/team in awkward situations => other team scores less => defense looks better.

I´m little more optimistic about the offense. The last pure point guard running Dantoni´s offense was able to keep the Suns huming very good. Let´s see, really looking forward to tonight´s game.
