I won't say Calm down but we should relax a wee , we had a very good first 30 somewhat games.

Now the schedule got harder, players get injured, inconsistencies crept up.

Is points per game really a valid defensive metric? Shouldn’t you at least use Points per possession or something that takes pace into account?

    +10000

we fight as a single impenetrable unit. That is the source of our defense. A single weak spot and the phalanx shatters.

Cleaningtheglass.com says 8.2 points, but they take out garbage time and it isn't adjusted for starters vs bench

Smh... vs lakers Harden was making game saving defensive plays to try to send it to OT.

Guys like EG, Ryno are th worst defenders in the team

Lol saying EG is a worse defender than harden is wild. What about all the off the ball mistakes harden makes? On ball he's always been fine on the initial drive... but sometimes he'll just let he guy walk by. In transition and off the ball d he's below average. My favorite is when he just lets the guy go by him in transition and tries to steal the ball from behind.

Anyways the defense will easily be better without him, problem is he is so good offensively it still won't even out

Honestly. . . . . I always took that to be avoiding cheap fouls
Rarely does one get a clean block or strip on a breakaway / fastbreak

When it's a 1 on 1 situation yea... avoid the foul you're most likely not gonna stop him. But when you have multiple teammates behind you actually trying to defend helps a lot.

Have you seen Chris Paul play transition defense? Night and day difference. I love harden, favorite player in the league by far but I think it's either he gets too much hate or he can do wrong...

Agreed on the last part. CP3 has historically been one of the better defensive guards in transition. Might not be an apt comparison.

I say between 5 and 10 points less not because Harden is so bad at defense but simply because our own points per game will dip and we will prob slow it down just a smidgen.

*Smidgen is an exact basketball reference lol

Harden’s ability to intercept passes will be missed, but we should have better off the ball defense now.

the most dangerous play in basketball is stopping a player going full speed for a dunk. It will either cause the defender an injury or the player on offense to be injured. I would rather you give the 2 pts to the offensive player than u use energy to stop the player and get fouled and get hurt yourself. in todays NBA 3>2 if u can score 3 by pushing ball right back out on offense that will diffuse the effect of the fastbreak 2

The pace of the game is going to slow down => the shot attempts will be less => the points scored will drop for the other team and us.
