Post-Rockets JVG Appreciation Thread To the best and funniest color commentator on television right now. In honor of JVG, post some of his funniest comments. I will go with a recent one today... "Black Mamba?! I've never heard of anyone calling him that!" (JVG again, later in the game) "Is that a snake?!" -- JVG on Kobe "In New York, Riley used to pay players to take charges...I think it's against the collective bargaining agreement now!" -- JVG after witnessing Haslem take a charge
I was thinking the exact same thing when watching the Celtics Heat game tonight. He's a really funny commentator.
"Whose the idiot who didn't play Bonzi Wells last year" Genuinely my favorite basketball commentator of all time.
LOL! I am the one trying to ruin the thread? I stated my opinion of him as a coach and a commentator. Dave_78 would be the one trying to get a fight going by asking for an explanation. Sensitive ass GOF.
You're the one stating that he's the worst coach ever. Hard to argue against a career .590 winning pct. and greatest defensive coach of all time. Yeah, what a terrible coach. I'm sure all 30 of the coaches in the NBA today are better than him, and that's why they all are doing so well.
This is the very definition of a troll. You come into a JVG POST-ROCKET Appreciation Thread just so you can say he sucked as a coach. Yes, you're the one trying to ruin the thread.
He is definitely made for TV. His obsession for detail and the is and outs of the game is most useful in this field. P.S. While I wouldn't hire him back there are some of that detail that is so JVG that I wish the team still had.
When the guy is a coach of the year candidate who is known throughout the league as someone who gets his players to overachieve then you should probably explain why "he sucks." Unless, of course, you want to look like a troll who makes indefensible statements.
dude was a top tier coach of the year candidate last year and got us over 50 wins despite the fact that t-mac and yao both missed large portions of the season. if he wants to coach again there will be several teams knocking on his door. i do love him as a commentator though - he definitely makes the espn broadcasts better.
