As everyone knows, there's no nudity or pornography allowed on ClutchFans. That's not changing. (I just want to be clear)

However, every week, Google is dinging us for inappropriate content somewhere on the forums. It's almost always some risque photo in a thread of random photos.

I don't want anything on the forums that's in very poor taste, but at the same time I also don't want to police photos of women in bikinis and Google doesn't make it very clear on what's ok and what's not (and it's a huge hassle).

So basically I'd like to just put all these threads in a members-only forum (which would then be closed off from Google's view).

Any thoughts on this and how a members-only forum could be intelligently split off the Hangout?

Isn’t that what the Styx forum is for?

Anything that lessens your burden and allows you to keep this (amazing) site running is fine with me. Even if it requires us having to input an extra set of credentials (which I don't even think you're advocating).

Glad to hear this, as I need at least one non-nude site in my rotation.

Maybe have a section of the Hangout labeled PG-13? That way people know that really crude stuff still isn't allowed, not even on this special subforum.

Can't help but think that Harden would have taken the scoring record last night had he never been Kardashianed.

Certain posters have regularly gone waaaaaay past what I thought was allowable in the "every post has a pic" thread.

I'm not very tech savy so I really don't have a clue on what it would take to do this, but I am 100% in favor of it! At times, were just a skip and a hop from getting into Spurstalk territory.

I would be in favor of it. I'm afraid to check hangout at work largely because of this, so having an island where this is not an issue would be nice. The problem will be buy in from members who habitually post that kind of thing. Heck, even content where no images are shown (like the fappening leaks) is something I fear someone at work seeing (not the actual content but the thread title alone). I think it's worth a try, and am really optimistic that it ends up working.

sad when you have to go out of your way to police grown men who are too horned to prevent themselves for posting half naked pictures of women.

I vote for Best Ass thread to start the new forum. And make Jontro a mod, he has an eye for quality.

Super naively, @Clutch , I'd wonder if there's some cheap or free pre-check (almost like spell-check) for linked image content, something that imitates the Google mechanism and then vetoes a post.

I enjoy Hangout but avoid the photo threads. Would the new members' Hangout just be for these threads? As others say, I support whatever lessons your workload in keeping this amazing site up.

I've seen various forums before limit viewing images to members only. That would prevent bots and crawlers from indexing those images. Also depending on how its implemented, it could lighten the load on server requests.

IMO, much preferable to a niche echo chamber of risque threads, which is exactly what that other section will become lol.

I second the "what ever is easiest for you and keeps this site great" sentiment that has already been shared.

I also second the "how sad you have to police" the actions of people who should be mature enough to keep it decent.

99'ers only forum for those who have out grown styx forum?

I don't think it's possible to add a noindex tag to individual image posts since those images are being hosted somewhere else and noindexing a page is all-or-nothing for Google: ie, there's no way to Google to ignore this post, but index yours on the same page.

@Clutch, I'm guessing the solution here would be to noindex the entire new subforum? If you don't care about its content ranking, that's probably the easiest solution.

That's interesting, I've never seen that treatment before of forum images before.

I had a feeling something like this would happen eventually, and certainly understand. I've always "spoilered" any image I thought danced around the edge of what might be allowed, and have attempted to warn others who didn't do at least that much. The message didn't always get through. Perhaps the new sub-forum could be named after a famous photographer? Someone like Ansel Adams, Annie Leibovitz, Man Ray, Philippe Halsman, or Helmut Newton, the fellow who might be more appropriate (look up his work), considering the problem. I've left out many other famous photographers. Just an idea.

In any event, it's my opinion that access should only be given to contributing members.

I agree, anything to prevent Clutchfans turning into Spurstalk I'm 100% for. But that's not to say that the new members only forum should turn into a Spurstalk clone

I'm likely one of the recent offenders, it would also be just as easy to stop posting in the photos thread. I have no problem with that.
