Robert Marling chairman of Woodforest National Bank is worth a ton and is good friends with Les. I don't think he has near enough to buy the team without others involved. He's also good friends with Mattress Mac. Could easily see those two forming a group.
lol How much money do you think Yao has? He would be a figure head, goodwill gesture at best (I mean I would love for him to be a full time member of the franchise, don't get me wrong, but he isn't the source of funding). I actually wouldn't mind Jack Ma, who was speculated about previously.

Bezos has a bit of a Houston connection- attended River Oaks Elementary School- not many years, but it's something. From an interview: And what’s on your playlist? Bezos: There’s an Amazon music station that Steve’s team programs called “Americana.” I really like that. And I’m listening to a lot of Zac Brown Band lately. Not what I would have thought. Bezos: Don’t forget, I lived in Houston until I was 12.
That's it- I'm going to convince Jeff Bezos to purchase the Houston Rockets. I'm going to write him a letter convincing him what a worthwhile investment this would be, bringing him back to his roots. And I am going to remind him that we share a connection- we were both published in the same book - on the same page!!! - so we are somewhat like on the same level and that therefore he should certainly take this into consideration: https://books.google.com/books?id=LdXD7PKZNCsC&pg=PA23&lpg=PA23&dq=Dan+Dorotik+home+based+businesses+for+dummies&source=bl&ots=5Lo8K5iQHk&sig=jYtN3J2X4M4F9afgbFOnr9agOnk&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwimkJaBv5HVAhXJ3YMKHcC4BuAQ6AEIJDAA#v=onepage&q=Dan Dorotik home based businesses for dummies&f=false (in reality, the letter would never get read and I am the most extreme form of small potatoes compared to Mr. Bezos, so almost certainly this would be an exercise in futility)
It's not "people" bringing him up, Mac sat there on camera with KPRC and stated he was going to "toss his hat in" to buy it. Scoff if you want, but this isn't unfounded speculation, Mac said it right out of his own mouth. I doubt he can, but the interest in forming a investment group to buy the Rockets is what he said.
