Well, the Blazers have the best record in the West and are the first team to win 30 games, but look closely, only 17 of the 41 games they have played were against teams in the West(Rocks have played teams in the West 28 times). Enjoy it while it lasts Blazers! I still say you're a 3rd or 4th place team at best. ------------------ "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever." - Gandhi
Portland has put it together now and is cruising. They will be atop the heap when all is said and done, in regards to the regular season. They made a very smart move by moving Bonzi Wells into the starting lineup. He has injected some speed and athleticism where Steve Smith has slowed down. ------------------ There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."
I agree that the Blazer's record is deceiving because of how many games they've played against the weaker east. If i'm not mistaken, the lakers have only played eight games against teams in the east and have a 7-1 record. Portland is going to have it tough for a while if they have to play all the western teams in only half the season. ------------------
Portland also lacks stamina....they are all just waiting to fall apart or peter-out...Portland also lacks strategery....Also it's too cold.... ------------------ C-son _ __________ _ !Viva La' Dream!
It seems Portland is really the team to beat by their record. However records can be deceiving such as mentioned ------------------ Sometimes you gotta do the next best thing!
Sabonis has been out for a while too, he's just got back in time to spark the streak. Haven't the Rockets only played 11 games against the East (going 10-1) ? There's no way a team that has played 24 games vs Eastern conference teams can claim to be a genuine threat yet. Golden State beat the Lakers in GS - sure it's not AT the Lakers, but it shows that when Portland go visiting the warriors they better be careful... ------------------
I agree that the West is far better than the east, and almost every team out here can beat any other on a given night. Still, you can't say Portland hasn't proven anything yet. They're still a legitimate threat even if their record is slightly padded. ------------------
