    Sorry for yet another Melo-thread. But with the talks of a 4-team-trade it becomes more and more likely, that we will have to give up more than just Anderson to get Melo. So which assets would you be willing to give up? (Anderson always included)

    Ryno is the only rotation player I want to give up

    Gordon and Capela are untouchables for Melo, and Ariza can only be moved if he's getting replaced with a 3&D wing that's coming to Houston along with Melo

    Anderson, a 2020 first rounder/second rounder, any oversea players.

    Since we have locked Harden till 2022, most of our first rounders are likely to be 25-30, so giving up one of those doesn't really hurt.

    Any rotation player aside from Anderson is off limits in any trade scenario - The goal is to close the gap on GSW not make side grades or leave holes in the roster with no assets to fill them with competent players.

    This of course would be the preferred option. But if that was possible, I guess it would have already happened. And when we are talking about a 4 team trade, it sounds as if we have to give up at least one of our rotational pieces. Would you be against this trade if it was for Anderson, 2020 first, Ariza and some overseas player? I guess the final trade will look closer to that...

    I'm not convinced that adding Melo but losing Ariza or Gordon along with Anderson makes us better.

    An Anderson to Melo upgrade on top of the Bev to Paul upgrade would be a Dream. That's what Morey should be able to make happen next to Harden.

    Ariza can't go anywhere. His solid veteran 3nD game is something we can't lose. Gordon won 6th man, his role just seems great where it is and Id love for him to stay a Rocket alongside Melo. But if we needed too, I'd give up Gordon if a good Melo deal was on the table. Move Anderson to the 6th man spot. But I would be dissapointed if Gordon was moved.

    I thought I saw somewhere that Knicks wanted to move Courtney Lee's contract.... Melo/Lee for RA/Ariza/filler might work... it works on trade machine for a straight 2 team deal... knicks dont want longterm contracts so allows them to flip Lee's remaining 3 years for Ariza's expiring...

    Whatever it takes. Gordon included if necessary. He's a 6th man. We need Team USA players and starters first and foremost, and then work the rest.
