I voted Whiteside-Conley, even though I'm a Horford fan and question Whiteside's actual contribution on defense...

But Whiteside should be hitting his prime, and while Conley has been labeled as underrated so much that he's actually now probably a bit overrated, we really need a playmaker.

    For the other guys:

Horford: Too old, not good enough rebounder (he's fine at it, but we suck so much a rebounding that we need a guy who's great at it). I wouldn't be upset if we got him, but at his age and price...

Barnes: Sawft, will be WAY overpaid.

Derozan: I like him but he doesn't shoot very well; as everyone in the world can attest, the Rockets need guys who can actually hit a shot. Still would be a good get but for the price he's likely to command, no thanks.

Rondo: Put up decent numbers on a team that played in zero meaningful games. Still not ok with how he played in Dallas.

    Derozan and Barnes?

one can't shoot straight to save his life in this year's playoffs and the other one is as inconsistent as they come. I'll let you decide which one is which.

For sure the book is out on Barnes. But he hits open 3s and has a rep (is it legit ?) for defense. That would be a huge improvement on this team. He should be paid like a B+ 3 & D guy but it's assumed he will actually be paid like a B- playmaker with upside.

we'll see. i agree with Caesar that it will be tough to put a competitive team around Harden. i don't believe for a second that he'll be traded this off season. i do believe he could be traded next trade deadline if we're mediocre again.

Barnes misses all his wide open shots.

Agreed. He couldn't hit the broadside of a barn.

Should still be in on Batum and Beal, make their teams match.

I kinda feel just go after 1, Horford. Horford replaces Howard.

And then allocate the rest of the cap space into an array of quality role players that have moveable contracts (for flexibility if need be). And then position yourself to be able to offer a max contract to someone in 2017 (remember the cap will go up 20+ million again).

So you have Harden/Horford/role players/New Coach/have righted the ship culturewise. And THEN get that 3rd star.

Harden, Whiteside, and Rondo would be a ticking time bomb.

The only one of those players I'd even consider giving the max to is Whiteside. He might not be worth it, but I know for a fact none of the other guys are worth it (especially Barnes, I don't know where the **** anyone got the idea that he was any good).

    1. Sign Horford to the max
    2. Sign Zaza to be our starting center
    3. Trade Corey Brewer and a future 1st rounder (unprotected) for Jeff Teague
    4. Sign Joe Johnson to vet min

    Zaza
    Horford
    Ariza
    Harden
    Teague

    Bench
    Josh Smith
    Joe Johnson

    ATL reunion baby!

This actually sounds like a great idea. We'd almost certainly have to give up more to land Teague, but if we could also sign crabbe this would be perfect.
