[POLL] Do You Like the Austin Rivers Signing?

Morey and these analytics guys think winning builds chemistry but it's an arrogant contention. You bring in loser, me-me type players like Melo and Rivers and you're going to pay the price. If Rivers can't play for the damn Wizards or Suns, he has no business here. He's a cancer just like Melo.

 

I'm no fan of AR, but we picked him up off the clearance rack.
If he's a locker room distraction or a chemistry killer, he can just as
easily be thrown in the used goods bin

 

From strictly an on court perspective, he was a pretty solid player in the 2 prior seasons. easily an upgrade over our current options. His game developed a lot from the super scrub he was his first 4 years in the league.

But everything about this doosh is so easy to hate. His entitlement, his attitude, the nepotism. He got better eventually but if his daddy wasn't an NBA coach he wouldn't have been given the time. Most people would have been on the league fringes after his first 4 years, he got a big extension.

He is a Rocket so I want him perform well, but I'm gonna have to get over some disgust initially. Everybody will warm up if he performs. So do I like it...for now I abstain, courteously.

Knight hasn't played much.

 

Nope , I don't hate it at all ….they needed help in the worst way. Its better than doing nothing and it literally cost them … nothing.

My only complaint is they didn't do this sooner so he could be moved at the deadline if it didn't work.

One thing I do think it signifies - Knight will be gone and so will that first round pick it takes to unload his contract … which will piss off a lot of fans , myself included.

 

I have to like every Rocket.

 

i don't like Carter-Williams......so the Rockets sign him, i don't like Carmelo(gone now)...the Rockets signed him........i'm not an Austin Rivers fan so....the Rockets sign him

 

its better this way so he can devote himself to playing well without pressure of being traded

I was told we are looking at Airemy Lin.

 

I will cheer for every Rocket. Austin Rivers is by far not my favorite person and player. However, given the circumstances of the season I think this was a solid pickup. Not much else out there to work with.

We can only hope he is a pleasant surprise to the team and not just another piece adding to the existing negativity.

rivers can play, as a rockets fan you should know it because we lost several games due to his excellent play, some of them were playoffs games

Better than some of the scrubs we have currently. if he means less minutes for clark ennis none for mcw ill take it.

Okay, I just looked up his numbers. While he is having a terrible year this year, his stats are pretty good the two years before in LA. So i’ll give you that. Maybe it works out.

That's true, but we are trying to win games in a tough western conference. If we were in east then it's okay to let people play and shake that off. But that won't fly on the west.

 

I still feel Melo is a better player than rivers.
