The wife and I were sitting around and got on this discussion. We were joking about what occupations our kid would have (no, we don’t have any yet). So my wife says, in a very valley of the dolls like voice, “I want my kid to grow up and be the President of the United States”. After a pause, we both burst into hysterical laughter. We thought the idea ludicrous. And I started thinking, would I want my son/daughter to have this job? And I came the conclusion, no. Which begs the question. Would you want your kid to be president? ------------------ I am the thread killer [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited October 06, 2000).]
If I had a daughter, I'd be all for her running for president. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
I would smack around any child of mine who had such a messed up idea. I don't normally condone violence of any kind, but in this case I would suppress my normal instincts. ------------------ Talking to a dead hare about art
There's a movie coming called The Contender staring Joan Allen, Jeff Bridges and Gary Oldman about a woman who tries to become vice president but there's a sex scandal in her past. Supposed to be realeased Friday Oct 13th. http://www.thecontender-thefilm.com/
So who's the candidate Outlaw? Gary Oldman or Joan Allen? [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited October 07, 2000).]
Must be Allen because we all know that Gary Oldman is Lee Harvey Oswald. ------------------ Houston Sports Board DFW Sports Board
Oldman plays the bad guy of course, a Republican congressman (naturally). Christian Slater also stars.
Oh, if Christian Slater is in it, I'm there. (Acutally, I saw the preview, and it does look like a movie I would like to see even though Christian Slater is in it). ------------------ Houston Sports Board DFW Sports Board
Rimy, Pretty sad huh? I mean, growing up, wasn't it always, "My little baby's going to be President". And now, it just seems like you almost have to sell your soul for a really messed up job. Damn! I really wanted to see Gary Oldman in drag. Why not! he's done everything else but. Okay....maybe not well, after 8 hours behind a computer, opening a play (yay!) and a couple of beers, I'm going to say night. [This message has been edited by mc mark (edited October 07, 2000).]
