Mavs have Chandler, Haywood, and Dirk.

Lakers in 6. This will be a repeat of the Denver series from 2009

Will Caron Butler back in this series?

He will at least bring toughness to the them which the Mavs clearly lacked.

Come on, any GMs will take Bynum/Gasol/Odom over Chandler/Nowitzki/Haywood any days.

Lakers take Gasol out and put in Odom. Odom has the foot mobility and length to go against Dirk. Artest stays at the 3 to help an ailing Kobe with Marion, Terry, Kidd. Fisher and Blake can't guard those guys lol.

    advantage > disadvantage

    Kidd > Fisher
    Terry< Kobe
    Marion> Artest
    Dirk = Pau
    Chandler < Bynum

    Barea > Blake
    Stevenson < Brown
    Peja < Barnes
    Haywood < Odom
    Everyone < Luke Walton

Lakers with the slight edge. If terry goes off and kidd keep hitting his 3's, there's a good chance. Dirk needs help.

I really like this Mavs team but they aren't really built for the Lakers because they don't have a good way of exploiting the worst PG in the league (neither did Portland). Kidd is the only guy in the NBA who may be slower than Fisher. Maybe Carlisle will mix it up and play Roddy or run a hybrid offense with Terry getting more PG minutes.

I'd love for the Mavs to win this because I'm tired of the Lakers and actually feel sorry for Dirk (imagine a Clipper fan feeling sorry for another player), but I'm thinking Lakers in 5 or 6. Unless, of course, they go through one of their slumps they've been having this year, in which case the Mavs would have a shot.

I'm not really sure what the point of these things is because it's not like basketball is a mass one-on-one contest. I don't think the 2000-2002 Lakers would have won this contest with any team because they were so top-heavy with talent. Also, in no world is Pau == Dirk.

Two keys IMO that are important for this series.

Rebounding and Bench play. Whoever controls both will when this series. I pick the Lakers because I don't think Dallas has a true wing to compete against LA. If Butler was healthy, I would give them more hope. Either way, I don't want the Mavs to win.

The series might be good on the court, but I'm not sure how much of it I'll actually watch. I couldn't watch more than five minutes of the game last night before I had to change the channel because of the incessant verbal fellating of Kobe by the broadcasters.

I say Fakers in 7, simply because of home court.
