Wow I never saw this. What's the context? Unless they are holding that 1st round pick in extremely high regard I don't understand why you would grade that trade a D or C.
This dude might be my favorite player to watch on the Rockets. He really is something special scoring the basketball. Can't imagine where we would be without him.
This guy and Nene absolutely stepped up in this series. Without them Hou would have been in real trouble this series.
Windhorst's reasoning was he saw LouWill not preform well for the Raptors when they were in the playoffs. Billups isn't a LouWill fan because he only focuses on LouWill's below average defense. Tmac is Tmac. There were a number of pundits that didn't quite understand the Rockets "doubling down on offense." They were thinking too linear while the Rockets were looking at better efficiency for the long haul and a higher ceiling and variance. Checkers / Chess etc.
Exactly why most players don't make good executives/coaches. They don't have the ability to see the long-term. Everything to them is black and white, and about the moment. Out of those three, I'm most disappointed in Billups. He understands the game at a deeper level than the other two, and should have been able to see how this trade could potentially help us moving forward. Instead, he only focuses on the guy's flaws, and can't get past the fact that it really doesn't matter how bad he is on defense because his offense makes up for it.
This is also an offense perfect for Lou. Lots of spacing and the green light. He doesn't actually have to pass at all.
Houston would have lost this series in my opinion if Lou and Nene and Gordon didn't play the way they did.
So if they didn't have over a third of their playoff rotation they wouldn't have won? : ) Just messing with you, great team effort.
Billups played under Larry Brown on those tough Detroit teams that hung their hat on defense. He probably thinks that a player like Lou would've never been on the court for his squads in the playoffs. It's probably hard for him to just overlook Lou's shortcomings on defense.
I remember Raptors fans telling us to watch out for this dude in the playoffs because he disappears. lol he's been money If anything his regular season with us was pretty uneventful outside of a handful of games Spurs old unit going to get gaped
Ariza - $7.8 m Lou Williams - $7 m Beverley - $6 m Nene - $2.9 m These are some of the best value contracts in the league. And Ariza, Lou, and Bev are signed through next year. OKC next year is paying: Oladipo - $21 m Adams - $22.5 m Kanter - $17.9 m Morey playing chess....
That is insane. Moneyball at its finest. Eric Gordon at 12 looks pretty damn amazing too. 36 million for those 5 is crazy value.
loving me some lou will. it's crazy how that leaning/levitating jumper seems to endlessly rip the bottom of the net. i've said it before and i'll say it again; if EGO and Lou shoot well we are damn near impossible to stop.
