I am really excited about the Lou Williams trade. He provides an extra scoring punch for the team. With the trade, the rotation and minutes for the team will have to have changes. I think Williams will take some of Dekker's minutes. Here's how I think the rotation will be: PG: Harden (36) Bev (12) SG: Bev (16) Gordon (32) SF: Ariza (22) Williams (26) PF: Anderson (30) Ariza (8) Dekker (10) C: Capela (28) Nene (20); Harrell may cut into Nene minutes on back to backs How do you guys think the trade will affect everyone else's playing time?
To many minutes for Eric's fragile body. The whole reason we got Lou was to limit Eric's minutes and lessen the burden on James!I like to see Eric's minutes go down to 25 a night and James to 32 because we are going to need them injury free for the real season. BTW, Lou is a Combo guard but will be used as a primary PG behind Harden.
G1: Harden (30), Gordon (14), Williams (4) G2: Bev (24), Williams (24) SF: Ariza (28), Gordon (12), Dekker (4), Harden (4) PF: Anderson (28), Dekker (8), Ariza (6), Harrell (6) C: Capela (28), Nene (18), Harrell (2)
Granville, you're correct. I didn't realize he was only 6-1. I guess that changes the dynamics of everything
I think it will be something like this Capela (24) - Nene (24) Ryno (28) - Dekker (20) Ariza (32) Bev (26) - Ego (26) Harden (34) - Lou (26) Ariza, Bev, Harden all get minutes lowered thanks to Lou. Dekker's minutes all come at PF now that we go with more 3 guard lineups.
1) Trez/Nene RARELY play in the same game so it's better to just put him at 0 for purposes of minute calculation in the regular rotation. 2) Coach has already explained his current plan. Gordon will play some 3 as coach thinks he can guard some 3s similar to Brewer. 3) Deadline isn't over. It's actually kind of challenging to see where guys are all going to get the minutes they are comfortable with. Is Harden going to really get down to 32, 33 minutes? Is Bev going to play sub 30 going forward? Is Gordon? Lou is currently only playing like 25 minutes, are we going to play him even less? It's hard to map out right now. Will be fun to watch coach figure it out.
Although Harden is technically a PG, I'm setting up this rotation by defensive assignment, which makes more sense given the unique nature of this back court. I'm thinking something like this: PG: Beverley (20) | Williams (24) | Gordon (4) SG: Harden (24) | Gordon (20) | Beverley (4) SF: Ariza (20) | Harden (10) | Dekker (18) PF: Anderson (30) | Ariza (10) | Dekker (8) C: Capela (28) | Nene (20)
Hope to see a lineup going forward like: Paul/Gordon/Markel Harden/Green/IsoJoe Ariza/Luc/Tucker IsoJoe/Tucker/Ryno Capela/Wright/Nene
Chris Paul: 30 James Harden: 35 Eric Gordon: 24 Gerald Green: 18 Joe Johnson: 14 Trevor Ariza: 24 Luc Mbah a Moute: 16 PJ Tucker: 24 Ryan Anderson: 18 Clint Capela: 25 Nene or Brandon Wright: 12
Lol. There's actually a new (poorly titled) thread about this: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/ready-4-blast-off.288321/
I bet Gerald Green is not playing when Ariza comes back. Once we have Gordon and Ariza's shooting back, his points are less needed than the defensive presence. JJ will play as PF, and we will see even more extreme small ball with Anderson or Tucker as centers. Still, Anderson won't reach the 20 minutes and Ariza/Tucker/Luc the 30s. Joe will get 15 per game.
Unfortunately Green will get glued to the bench once Ariza is back and Trevor will get 38 minutes a game again. Wish we would do a 10 man rotation more like GS. Ariza should be more like 24-30 a game and Harden should be closer to 34. Paul should be rested here and there down the stretch. I’m afraid MDA will use the pursuit of the # 1 seed as an excuse to continue the short rotation.
Dont give so much time for Ariza. I think 24 minutes are ok. We need to enusure everyone has chance to play. I will give few more minutes for black
