Good stuff. Always liked him. The first few years of Stevie Franchise were as fun a time as I’ve had watching basketball and that includes the championship runs. A Francis led team was going nowhere though. Making the trade for Tmac was a no brainer.

lulz, Francis called you a little nerd.

And I know some little nerd is gonna be all up on my Twitter page like, “Nah, Steve, ACTUALLY I dug up the box score on Google and he ACTUALLY shot 39%.”

    This quote...LMAOOOOO. Savage!

    ---
It’s not even worth talking about those Magic years, and it’s definitely not worth talking about those Knicks years. I got to both of those teams, and it takes you like five minutes of being in the locker room before you realize: Nope. No wins here.

You can tell in a minute. It’s a culture.

"How many guys who only played in a city for five years, and only made the playoffs once, get that much love?"

This is because of the pure Rockets fans in Houston.
We KNOW he loves the city of Houston and the People.
He wasn't a gimmick who was all about marketing himself and forcing his beliefs on us.

These weren't Steve Only Fans, these were HOUSTON ROCKETS FANS FROM HOUSTON.

    PURE.

Problem is that Rudy T built the entire offense around him, even when we had Yao.
When he went to other teams, he couldn't adjust.
Rick didn't play him for a reason, the same reason he sucked in New York.

Even though the results were the same, we had to trade for Tmac cause Steve couldn't adjust and wasn't the smartest player.

His dribbling out the shot clock vs Lakers in the playoffs was probably the tipping point, not him going out to the Super Bowl with Jay Z

Yet another example of the difference between Dwight and Hakeem.

Here's Dwight trying to give a young PG advice

Well he says he didn't, but it doesn't really matter. You drink enough, it f**ks you up just the same.

    Loved the bit about Yao

"It was ridiculous. But that was my man. He was the kindest, most respectful, smartest teammate I ever had. This dude had to do 15 interviews before shootaround, and then 15 interviews after shootaround. Cameras following him everywhere he went on the road … it was crazy. And he would ask us, “Are you guys O.K. with the cameras? Does it bother you?”

That’s the kind of person he was. He was my favorite teammate ever, hands down. He was such a good player, too."

This was one of the better PT articles I've read, also one of the longest. Its a shame what happened to Francis' career but hearing about how his life was coming into Maryland and the NBA was eye opening to me. I wish it could have worked out the second go around, but unfortunately not. I hope Francis finds peace and purpose in his post NBA life

15,000 points, nearly 7,000 assists. Three rings. Came damn close to taking the Bucks and Twolves(!) to the conference finals. Go back and watch some classic Rockets games if you want to know how good he was as a rookie.
