Planned Parenthood Director caught on tape selling aborted baby parts

What these criminals did was undermine our Democracy. We cannot tolerate this kind of propaganda. Not punishing them to the full extent of the law just leaves things open for the next hucksters to come along and gin-up a controversy to push an agenda or turn an election.

 

They probably should be charged as accessories to murder before the fact; expect the State to go hard.

There's nothing wrong with adversarial or aggressive journalism but in this case they didn't follow any journalistic ethics. Any status they have as journalists is very questionable considering how misleading their reporting, if it can be called that, was.

This would be a very different argument if they factually reported the story, even with a bias. That they heavily doctored it and conflated it with material that wasn't part of the story to paint a false picture is a big part of the problem.

 

Blow the whistle, face the repercussions.

This wasn't about blowing any whistles. The jurors who sit on the grand jury are not the power structure trying to prevent whistle blowers.

The investigation started out investigating the claims of selling body parts, but the evidence lead to the propagandists being indicted.

That was because of the evidence not an attempt to stop whistle blowing.

It didn’t take long after Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson announced the indictment of anti-Planned Parenthood videomakers David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt for the conspiracy theories to swirl.
It also didn’t take long for Anderson to shut all of them down. In a two-minute video statement posted Wednesday night, Anderson vehemently rebuts the idea that her office was ideologically predisposed to punish the pro-lifers.
“Anyone who pays attention knows that I’m pro-life,” Anderson said. “I believe abortion is wrong. But my personal belief does not relieve me of my obligation to follow the law.”

If only our Governor, Attorney General, and legislators had the same integrity to follow the law. Kudos to Ms. Anderson.
