Now, hopefully, the Pistons won't need former Detroit natives Mo or Carlos.

    ------------------
It just goes to show how skewed our priorities are when Mo Taylor makes millions of dollars while some high school teacher, that can actually rebound, scrapes to make a living.

If Mo were half the power forward that Charles Barkley was, he'd be 3'2" and still board more than he does now.

bobrek, that article changed. Before, it indicated that the reason Joe Smith didn't re-sign with the TWolves was that Stern and Co. were going to fight any attempt to reunite Joe and the TWolves.

Anybody think this takes the Pistons out of the Webber derby?

Also looks like it makes Los & Mo less likely to be in MoTown.

If signing Joe Smith takes the Pistons out of the Chris Webber derby, then they (Pistons) are crazy. Smith has been an underachiever most of his career and while he provided some help for the T'Wolves, he ceratinly wasn't worht the money they were planning on paying him.

It doesn't take them out of the Webber derby. They very well might have enough cap room to sign Webber and Smith in the offseason and certainly can if they make the Webber deal a sign and trade.

Smith's a small piece that can help them with his versatility, and it doesn't hurt that he's friends with several good players (by several I mean Webber...).

I take back everything positive I said about Joe Smith's character.
