Fantastic, too-long-to-post article on Kyle Lowry & his upbringing in today's Philly papers:

Great article. Thanks for posting it.

There were some quotes last year from Adelman talking about Lowry's high basketball IQ. Lowry may not be the most gifted player at his position. But I don't think anyone bests his combination of intelligence and toughness. Its a great combo to have at the point guard position.

In a very short period of time, he's turned what used to be a weakness -- his shooting -- into a strength. And that was after he got his contract. I have a lot of respect for that.

Thank God his father abandoned him. Two parent family turned many of the other Rockets soft and got them addicted to jump shots.

I don't think he was a Aaron Brooks player from the beginning obviously. Coach told him to look for his shots.

Great to see a man being able to deal with that kind of situation. Lowry should retire a Rocket and he will go down as one of the hardest working players along this franchise has ever seen.

When life reminds you that you are viewed by some as a liability early on, it makes you grateful to be treated as an asset later.

This is why Morey is such a great GM. He understands human nature.

Adding the "ex" prefix gives a negative connotation to Lowry.

Awesome article. Lowry really gives the team an identity - it's really impressive how he's really jumped up a level the last couple of years.

Hard to believe we got him for Rafer.

When was the last time McClain, Soloman, Justice, or Feigan put out an article of such quality? Jason Freidman is the only guy I see up to par with the quality of this piece by this Marcus Hayes guy.
