This recent Westbrook God-Mode stretch makes it incredibly unlikely the Thunder have both Westbrook and Durant in 2 years, IMO.

Either they trade Durant (almost certainly not happening) and keep Westbrook, or Durant re-signs in 2016 and Westbrook bolts in 2017. Westbrook isn't going to want to be 2nd fiddle to Durant his whole career, especially now that he's seeing the numbers he can put up and the media attention he can get without him. He's going to be the top guy on a team one way or another.

 

Sam Presti ain't stupid enough to trade durant. I mean who would he have to get it return?

It would have to be somebody extra ordinary. I do however think that durant really ain't as loyal to okc as people think. I think he's willing to move.

 

Plus I don't think the Wizards have any particularly interesting pieces to offer in return (Durant's preferred destination, imo). Wall and Westbrook on the same team would be sort of redundant. Maybe Beal and pieces? Eh still seems shaky. I would rule out sixers as well, even with their cap room.

 

A package starting with Klay Thompson and Harrison Barnes would surely be enticing.

Westbrook on one of his wild forays into the key with Klay waiting patiently for the kick out.

You know how Bill Simmons likes to live in this alternate reality where OKC could have kept Harden? Even though Harden realized he was much better than the 3rd best player on a chip team. The same thing will happen with Westbrook

 

I hope they lose Durant and Westbrook. That organization should have never left the city of Seattle. They should be the Sonics to this day. Rockets Sonics rivalry should still be alive.

 

KD is one of those players that will never be traded. Like LeBron and Kobe.

 

I really like him and he's a great player but I'm a bit iffy on what will the team give up to acquire him.

 

Durant for Wall and Beal. Then OKC dishes Westbrook as well for a front court player.

Wall/Beal/Ibaka + Westbrook return would still be a damn good team considering the chance of them loosing Durant and WB for nothing.

Eh don't like the idea of two PG's that can't shoot. If they didn't have Westbrook I think it would be logical but I like the idea of Dwight and Westbrook.
