"We love you...but we still want to get rid of you, if the right offer comes along." Great way to inspire camaraderie and a sense of loyalty among the better players you still have left.
Isn't Zion coming back this season? If so there is no reason to trade Holiday now. He's still only 29 and has 1 more year after this under contract + a player option. Keep him this year to see how he fits with Zion and then if the result isn't good trade him then. He will still have value as an asset. Reddick on the other hand there is no reason to keep him. So imo this report is simply lies coming from the Pelicans.
Holiday still has one more year and a player option for the 2021-22 season on his deal so, i can see him end up pretty much everywhere, but i don't see many teams with a big need of a small guard, Miami and Minnesota are probably the teams that makes the most sense to me, maybe Detroit, San Antonio and Orlando, although i don't see what these teams could give up for him to entice NOLA.
The Pells should actually trade Holiday asap so they can tank. Zion is only 19 by the time he turns his prime when he is 25-26 Jrue will be too old by then. Not every rookie is as good Luka D able to be an MVP contender in his 2nd year.
Not technically legal, but I propose Rockets trade a 1first round pick, cash, and one of their young guys for Josh Hart, and verbal confirmation from Favors' agent that upon a buyout and clearing waivers he'll sign with Rockets. Not sure why they would part with Hart but perhaps a first round pick is too much to pass up. Favors isn't long for New Orleans and he may his rocky season may make it difficult for Pels to get anything in a trade for him. He could shore up the back up center position (perhaps try him next to Capela? not likely to work but worth a shot). Hart is probably too small to be the ideal wing defender Houston needs, but he's young, 3-D gritty type, got a few years on his contract, and fits Houston's system so well you'd think he would eventually become super valuable to their rotation.
