It only works if you could be head and shoulders above them and upset them convincingly.

The only thing they should be obsessed with at the moment is trying to make the playoffs.... and then making it out of the first round!

They are doing a good job, Bravo.
With such a team they have a good chance to beat the Warriors and take them down, literally. I can already see Lantz tackling Curry and Rondo reverse nut kicking Green.

The Lakers are obsessed with chasing the Warriors. The Rockets are obsessed with beating the Warriors. Big difference...

Just more proof the Lakers are better at talking the talk then walking the walk. They are still only seeing things one step at a time ahead. Right now Pelinka and Co are trying to keep their cap open for next year to chase Kawhi which is a good idea, but they value they are getting out of the people they have signed so far is just not there outside of Lebron. The difference between Morey and Pelinka is Morey would be hoarding as much value on the roster at every position as a contingency plan so if he strikes out in FA, he still has assets to keep him alive as a trade partner. And let's be clear - LA might have a shot at Kawhi and they did just land Lebron but that is the first difference making FA signing they have had in like 12 tries which is a low percentage. Right now it looks like LA is content they have a few recent lottery picks they can throw in a trade if needed and they are supplementing that with "names" people have heard - KCP, McGee, Rondo, Lance but I just don't get how those guys they have signed fit into either a trade-able asset or as a team that can both defend and shoot to hang with the Warriors.

This whats pisses me off the most about this offseason. I told yall that warriors would have more of a hard time next year rockets showed everybody the blue print. So it kills me to see us regress. N another thing i keep saying. Warriors are so soft n weak. Anytime the get a lick of competition they go scorched eartg n get another superstar. They just some front runners

Yes, they should be obsessed and the only way they can achieve their goal is by getting more reliable shooters. Maybe a sharp shooting, stretch 4. Can we interest them in Ryan Anderson, perhaps? With Anderson on their side, they will topple the Warriors and takeover the league. Please trade for him. He’s their only key to an NBA Championship.

Whoever takes down the Warriors should send Morey a ring.

    *shrug*

I love LeGOAT, so I am really interested in seeing how he does in LA, but if they make it to the 2nd round and are competitive then that will be a success for this current Lakers squad

This is why I wanted Lebron. Not only for the WC landscape (i.e. going against 2 contenders vs. 1) but also because the narrative will shift for the Lakers to pioneer, or be the team the media can get behind, the obsession of toppling the Warriors. Now we're getting stories that him choosing LAL was a "basketball decision" o_O Media Conspiracy at its finest.

Outside of LeBron, did they even sign anyone that fits that description?

Yea this is stupid by all means. Lebron coming to the West won't change the power structure at all. The Lakers could possibly be a 6th-8th seed but they ain't beating us, GS, Utah, SAS or the Pelicans. The media's just over excited Lebron's in LA, closer to them. Lebron will learn he should've stay east

It completely DESTROYS the idea that James went to the Lakers because he thought they had the best shot of beating the Warriors....... the damn GM said they want to get players like the ones the Rockets have........ way to indirectly throw LeBron under the bus.

On a side note..... I think the Lakers forgot that the Houston players are TWO way players...... if you cannot hit 3's and put the ball on the floor, you have ZERO shot against the Warriors.....

So their plan is to hold the warriors to 70 points a game?

    Got it.

I am going to start documenting the media narratives throughout the season for the lakers, rockets and warriors.

I'm not a believer, BUT it's hard to ignore someone that has been to the NBA finals 8 TIMES IN A ROW.
THAT's impressive. BUT, you're not in Kansas anymore Dorothy. Welcome to the Western Conference
Can't just cakewalk your way to the front of the line here
