I had a recumbent bike I would ride like crazy when I was working out. I rode it so hard that I broke it. People are right to question the companies performance given how they over-extended themselves when pandemic usage was at its heights. That being said, everybody I know that has one uses it regularly. Maybe its best for those with younger kids who can't necessarily go to the gym whenever, and are at a point in their life where they could afford the cost (and maybe those are all the people I know that have one and use it regularly).
