Reports out of Cleveland is that McCaw to be waived after signing PG Cameron Payne.

Rockets need switchable long 3-D players and need to keep him away from GSW.

    Better than MCW for sure.

Why did this guy want to get out of GSW so desperately?

This is a no brainer and to get more intel on the enemy from a player sure to want to prove himself is surely worth the vet minimum.

I guess MCW will get cut soon, or at least, this is what i expect...not sure how good is McCaw, he did well as a rookie, not so much last season...regardless, he would be an upgrade over MCW. I'm just not sure we're going to pay him after we got Rivers...

On a side note, kudos to the Cavs for screwing the Warriors even if they had no interest in the player.

Why the excitement? I'd forgotten the guy existed until I saw the thread (thanks, OP).

    Meh...

    Kinda overrated here.

Golden State had the right to match, they didn't. He's not going back to Golden State.

[ Insert player here ] is better than Michael Carter-Williams. Well, yes, probably. Please don't make Michael Carter-Williams the standard. Carter-Williams doesn't even play. Is McCaw(or whoever the MCW replacement is) the new 14th man who doesn't play?

Between James, Chris, Eric, Austin, Gerald & Brandon, they're probably fine at the 1/2.

Looks like he just wants to become unrestricted free agent. Less about wanting out, as it is believing they need to get rid of RFA status to get paid, and his agent executed a brilliant loophole to pull it off faster than BJ Armstrong ever thought possible.

    McCaw knows his rights.

I live in Bay Area now, GSW wanted to retain him but could not match Cavs offer.

McCaw is good fit for team especially if EGo is part of trade package in Feb.

Very young, high upside, excellent defensively against positions 1-3. 6-7 and better 1 on 1 AND switch defender than Ennis.

Offensively is good in PnR, explosive to basket and effective catch and shoot 3's. Very good vision and willing passer.

Not without flaws of course, inconsistent shot creator especially mid range, still very thin and not very vocal. But much better fit than MCW, LVE and even Ennis. Young but high effort and high BB IQ.

Interested to see if Morey makes a move. This would not preclude a trade for starter of course.

The negativity is not surprising however. We all know which posters think they are the be all and end all.

Something wrong with McCaw. He was just signed recently by Cleveland. Must be a reason why he has
    been available all season.

Not sure there’s anything “wrong” with him, it appears the Cavs did McCaw a favor and may still sign him. It seems McCaw was just hell bent on getting out of GS, maybe it’s the repulsion of Draymond and other prima donnas that compelled him to want out of there.

    Yes, just confirmed thru basketball-reference.com

He has played in only three games: 01/02/19, 01/04/19 and 01/05/19

I believe the Warriors were strapped for cash in the offseason......and I’m sure McCaw felt he was better than offers
presented by the Warriors and others. We lost Luc MaM because we were strapped for cash in the offseason as well.

Probably needs to practice more to knock off the rust. His numbers were bad in the three games.

Yeah 25% this year and a scorching 29.5% for his career.

Hooray. He'll be our new Corey Brewer.
