http://rockets.clutchfans.net/1229/rockets-trade-targets-nene-granger/ If Granger is available this off-season. Are the Rockets still interested? Should they go after him if he is? Pacers after losing to the Rockets: http://twitter.com/MikeWellsNBA/status/44250623562096640 10-9 since Frank Vogel took over the coaching duties. Portland is their only win against a team above .500. Podcast: http://media.1070thefan.com/Podcasts/1632/030711_wells.MP3 Pacers also hold the draft rights (2007 second round pick) to Stanko Barac (b. 1986) a center who's listed as 7-1, 245 lb but he looks closer to 260 lb this year. His game reminds me of Yao's, except he's nimble, and without the awkwardness or falling down. http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/web_101022.html
I think a deal for Granger is inevitable. A Lowry/Martin/Granger combination would be scary as all hell. Granger's 10 million per year is extremely attractive too. 25 million for Lowry/Martin/Granger is sick...
Yeah i'm afraid this may translate to having another Kmart scoring type. One is fine and enough. Plus, is there any proof Granger isn't part of the lockerroom problem?
I'd take granger in a heartbeat. A lot of people on this board complain about having one way players. Well, Danny Granger is an above average two way player. And at 28, he is entering his prime. I hope Morey can pick him up this off-season.
Is there any proof he is? Granger is 6'9" and blocks shots. He is not a terrible defender by any means. This is not a Kevin Martin situation where you get one thing only. I don't think any of you have actually watched him play.
If this is his prime then his prime sucks. He does exactly what K-mart does and for the same amount of money. He may not be grossly overpaid but in terms of what he brings here he will be. Another semi All-star to team up with our semi All-star all for 20 million. It still won't get us to home court advantage in the playoffs let alone a title. yeah 5 seed good
O'Brien had to go, but from the beginning some said Vogel was in way over his head. Maybe that is the main problem. Their roster has serious issues, but the Pacers might need a legit coach more than anything else. Then they should address the roster.
If their locker room is so dysfunctional, then they're probably gonna be stuck on chuck trying to figure out how to improve. They've kinda exploded in on themselves. Not that they'd deal Granger necessarily, but I'm sure Larry Bird would LOVE to have Chase in such a deal. He'd greet him at the airport, "Son!" (pause) "Boy, you don't look good, you need to get out, catch some rays."
The Pacers beat writer Mike Wells spent 3/4 of the podcast going on about Stephenson. He said he thought the locker room would improve if Stephenson was booted but has another guaranteed year on his contract. Dahntay Jones's outspokeness was also given a mention and how he could rub people the wrong way because of it.
