The Knicks in my opinion really can be better off without Ewing. It's not that Ewing isn't good. But with Ewing out, it really opens up the post for Larry Johnson, and you can see what has happened. Since Ewing left, Johnson has played like a man possessed. He has been the thorn in Indiana's side, and he has the ability to take over games now that Ewing isn't clogging up the middle. If you want a comparison, look at how Barkley did this season when Hakeem went down. Charles had the post to himself, and he took over. Same situation with New York. And also, Houston and Spree know they have to step it up with no Ewing. Ewing is not a huge loss, or at least not against the Pacers, who don't have the big men to take advantage. When the Knicks have gone small versus Indiana, they have taken the game over. That being said, Ewing better come back quick because they'll need Ewing and all of his 6 fouls if they have to play Shaq and the Fakers.
