This trend started last year. When Dwight was sidelined due to injuries, we had no problem maintaining similar winning percentages, which at the time surprised many fans.

    2014-2015 Houston Rockets

    With Dwight : 29-12

    Without Dwight : 27-14

    Only 2 win difference.

Dwight's Real Plus Minus was 1.96, mere 18th among all centers. He had negative offensive RPM. Harden was just entering into his prime. No wonder his absence had such little impact.

This year, it's gotten even worse.

    2015-2016 Houston Rockets

    With Dwight : 28-33

    Without Dwight : 7-4

We are above .600 without Dwight, and .460 with him playing.

He's also recording negative ORPM, as he always did for the past 4 years.

Honestly, I'm so done with this guy. And I don't wanna hear anything about playoff Dwight blah blah blah. We are paying him $22 mil to play his heart out the whole freakin' year, including the regular season. If he wants to only show up come playoff time, we should treat him as a part-time contract player and pay him accordingly, 'cause that's all he is.

He has the most ugly ass inefficient offensive game I've ever seen from a so called 'superstar' big man, and his defense has regressed to the point that he no longer even contests shots that are well within his reach.

For the last time, let this clown walk. Build around Harden, Capela, Beasley, D-mo. Bring in some FAs who can actually score and create their own shot without having to constantly being spoon-fed. Have legitimate second offensive option, and we are well on our way to another good season.

Totally agree with above post. Dwight is aging horribly and his game has no place in modern NBA. Waste of money. Would prefer Ed Davis at $5 million per.

Asik would be a huge upgrade over Dwight in term of production/salary ratio.

great idea to dump him for a pick. Morey rejoices, the master at salary dumping and pushing talent away.

Morey can f off as far as I'm concerned, with his idiotic coach hiring decisions.

    For the last two seasons

    With Dwight : 57-45 (.558)

    Without Dwight : 34-18 (.653)

There has been enough sample size to draw the conclusion : Dwight is bringing everyone else down on this team. He's the cancer. He's the problem.

If we gave more minutes to Capela instead of Dwight, we would not be in this situation to begin with. We are above .600 without Dwight for 2 years in a row. This is not a coincidence. He's really hurting this team, but no one has the balls to say it to his face 'cause Dwight is a big cry baby.

Oh yeah? Well James "The Problem" Harden has played in EVERY SINGLE GAME the Rockets have lost this season. How do you explain THAT???

11 games is a small sample, but I don't see how this team would be any worse next season if they let Dwight walk and used that 22 mil elsewhere. Maybe not better, but probably no worse.

This year data is too small a sample.

Last year data is what it is. But playoff Dwight last year show his regular season was likely skewed (either physically or maybe mentally).

Playoff Dwight this year, if we get there, will show Dwight values.

And perhaps the coaching staff should play less Dwight in the regular season, or if he does play, make sure he's playing at full strength (if Dwight is here next year).

11 games is not too small, tho. It's almost 1/7th of a season, which is definitely statistically significant. And combined with last two season records, we see that we actually play much better without Dwight.

1/7th of a whole season is not small sample size at all. And like I said, if we are only going to see him play with effort only in the playoffs, then we should pay him accordingly like a part-time contract player. Otherwise, get the f out.

The way the Rockets play doesn't take advantage of Dwight. This style is more along the lines of GS and it requires the big man to play like a guard but guard like a big i.e. Draymond Green.

I'm sure he would be better off on another team.

The 7-4 stat is a bit shallow, 3 games against Dallas, 2 against Miami, and then throw in duds like New York, Utah. I wouldn't put too much into that.

The style of play does change a bit during the playoffs and works more to Dwight's favor. DMO and Josh did a great job of getting a great regular season results last year. Once the playoffs started, it was Dwight's time to shine. Unfortunately, the Rockets will end up playing SA or GS and will get bounced in 5 this year and Dwight won't get to do his usually playoff redemption. This story that Dwight is whining is getting old. He isn't, the circumstances are not working in his favor and the dumb finger point is just that, dumb finger pointing. The NBA has change the way Morey predicted and likes for the team to play. Unfortunately, other teams have better personal for that style.

That's not actually sarcasm. Clippers seriously have considered trading Blake during this season. Doesn't matter now since their records have come down to earth.

Too small a sample and you need you adjust for opponents.

Capela is good, but if you start him then who backs him up?

We can get rid of Dwight but it's still hard to find someone with his production
