Oscar Pistorius (Blade Runner) accidently shoots girlfriend

Sadly, this is a common occurrence in South Africa - the racial tensions and income disparity lead to a lot of looting and robberies by young black males with no other avenues but cheap, hard labor. Home owners are on edge during the middle of the night so there's no black and white line on the exact point where your life is in danger and you can shoot. I would like to permanently reside in South Africa but violent crime is the only thing that deters me, no matter what area you're in.

I've met Oscar on nights out and he's one of those quiet ladies men with a really easy going demeanor. He's not the type to get hung up over things ... and ultimately I don't think he will be punished. But it's a sad story, of course.

Four shots to the head and in the arm. Also a history of multiple domestic violence.

I sadly don't think this was an accident, he's wanted for murder right now.

 

That's why you have nightwatchmen & a safe room in the sub-Saharan - even (or especially) if your house in an area like Ikoye..it's not like he can't afford it.

I just saw that on the news. According to the police there have been other incidents at his home and that Pistorius was tested for blood alcohol.

If he really did murder her this will be a very tragic end to a promising career and will ruin a lot of the good he has done for his sport and paraolympians.

 

Shot in head and arm? If you know your gf isn't home and you sees a burglar in your home who matches the physique and body shape of a FHM model, much less your own GF. And he mistakens her for a burglar? Yeah right.

If he had enough good aim and time to shoot her in the head and arm, I think its reasonable to say he had sufficient visibility and time to realize it was his gf.

 

I don't think it was an accident. What the hell was he thinking. Poor girl and her relatives.

 

My day was going so well, but this story just cut the legs right from under it.

 

Yeah, completely lost my motivation to work, could really use a shot in the arm.

 

apparently he has a history of domestic violence as per some online reports...so details are still sketchy...

 

Hmmmm... sounds fishy and sad to me... but won't speculate until the case is heard.
